Well, I finally got off my backside and set up a NFA trust. Submitting the paperwork for a SBR, so now time to get some suppressors...
Here is what I will be using/doing...
The SBR will most likely be an AAC 9" 300 blackout. Also, I have a 16" 300 BO and a 16" 6.8 SPC. These 2 are what we currently hog/coyote hunt with.
Will be shooting supers more often than not, assuming that I would have better performance? IDK
Was thinking about getting a couple of different cans/mounting systems and seeing what I liked. Leaning toward the AAC 762-SDN-6 and the Silencerco Saker 7.62
Also, I understand you may have some POI shift when adding a can.. So, do you just make a mental note of that, or should I resight my optics WITH the can on? The SBR most likely would always have a can on it, the 2 16" rifles, I havent decided, since I will prob be switching the can back and forth between the two..
Anything I am missing? Should look at?
Oh, forgot to mention, length and weight are higher priority than noise suppression. Especially when considering lugging around a 16" barrel with an additional 7 +/- inches on the end... That is why when the SBR comes in, it will be MINE and son gets to hump the other lmao..
Thanks for any advice!

If you will be shooting suppressed, zero the scope suppressed. Every one of my rifles has an impact shift when adding the suppressor. Also, the harmonics are completely changed, so a load that shoots well without the suppressor may not do well with the suppressor. My 6.5 Creedmoor was load developed without suppressor and shoots tiny, add the suppressor and it opens up a bit.
My 7mm-08 will only ever be shot suppressed, so I zeroed and did load development suppressed.

With length and weight being a high priority you should look at a Titanium suppressor. Crux has a short, medium and long can that is SBR rated. I would try to stay under 16oz.

I have a 762 SD and it's a good can but with the current ownership structure of aac I would steer clear. I'm really pleased with everything I have from SilencerCo.

I just ordered a SilencerCo 7.62 Specwar, which is the quietest of the SilencerCo models, but the heaviest and longest. If I remember correctly, I believe the Omega is the lightest, followed by the Saker. The Saker is 1.5" shorter than the Specwar and weighs 3 oz. less (due to it being titanium vs. the Specwar being steel), so it would be one to consider. Also, the Saker has a new lock collar (one turn and its locked) system, the Specwar has to be turned a few times before it locks into place. For approx. $200 less than the Saker, the Specwar fit my needs.

AAC is now part of the Freedom Group, they don't have a very good track record. That aside, I have the 51 tooth mounting system 7.62 SD, mfg about 2008. I have sent it back to AAC twice for repair of end cap strikes, due to the 51 tooth system allowing the can to "shoot loose". Both times AAC fixed it free of charge. The 51 T system is flawed, if I didn't already have the can and the AAC muzzle devices on about 8 rifles I would not be using anything AAC. Silencerco, has their stuff to together and they also figured out ways to correct the 51 T problems go that route.

Hmm.. Good info. I am not tied to getting an AAC by any means. Just thought if I get the AAC upper, it would already have the 51t flash hider... Ah well, as someone said in another post... Someone has to pump money into the economy lol...
This could get as bad as night vision addiction lol

My Templar Tactical/Crux cans exhibit almost no shift, it's straight down, about a 1/3" of an inch.

This could get as bad as night vision addiction lol The Specwar comes with a flash hider/muzzle break that doubles as a mount so no worries there. Silencerco's customer service is not only top notch, so are their products. Super great people to deal with and I've yet to hear someone talking bad about them.

Primary use bolt gun or AR? That should make your decision for you.

Primary use bolt gun or AR? That should make your decision for you. Probably 70/30 AR/bolt. ARs in 5.56 and 6.8, Bolt in .308. Or should I get something else?

The Saker is a great suppressor but since you wanted light weight might look at the Omega. I have not heard one yet but I have heard good things about it.

If your use is 70/30 AR/Bolt with .308 being the largest caliber, then I'd pick the Saker, myself. I'm by no means an expert. I got my first suppressor last year, and I currently own suppressors in 7.62 (Specwar), .22 (Spectre) and .45 (Octane) calibers. I've also got Griffin .338 LM and Sportsman DT units on the way. The Specwar is great; maybe heavy, but it appears to have no effect on accuracy and a moderate effect on point of impact, about 2-2.5" @ 100 yards. I bought the Griffin 338LM for heavy magnum usage, including my .338 LM, and I bought the Sportsman DT for use on thin barreled hunting rifles. Much to my surprise, I discovered the choice of muzzle device can be quite complicated. The two majors are 5/8x24 and 1/2x28. That's great, but the 5/8 units are usually 7.62 caliber and the 1/2 units are usually 5.56 caliber. Some, not all, companies have 7.62 caliber units in the 1/2 format; most don't. Some companies offer 9/16x24, usually in 7.62 caliber. Why does all of this matter? Well, it probably won't if you're just using AR15 and AR10 rifles with standard profiles. If you use bull barrels, you'll probably want to use the 5/8 format, but some 5/8 muzzle devices will not work with 5.56 suppressor units. Some sporting rifles have very thin barrels; if your manufacturer doesn't offer a 1/2 device in 7.62 caliber, you may have problems. This isn't meant to be needlessly confusing. These issues are not theoretical. My .338LM has a very thin barrel by a well known barrel maker that will almost certainly not fit a 5/8 muzzle device. I did not know this before I bought. I also have a bull barrel 5.56 upper that's threaded 5/8. I've just installed a Specwar muzzle device and it works perfectly with my Specwar 7.62; but it apparently wouldn't work with a Specwar 5.56 suppressor, as the Specwar 5.56 units will not attach to the 5/8 devices for obvious safety reasons. Pretty clearly one device will not do it all. You have to pick a middle of the road suppressor that will excel at your primary task, and provide adequate performance at other tasks. Accept that suppressors are like potato chips and recognize that you will eventually buy more of them. As always, my advice is worth what you paid for it.

I can use it on a host of guns and it works great for the price. A little on the heavy side? Yes. Quiet and durable, also yes. It is nice to have the flexibility to shoot .223-300 win mag in a can that is full auto rated.

I took the suppressor off and POI shifted as much as 4" at 100yds with one of my rifles. You're going to love the SBR w/suppressor combo. Used to have a 16" 300blk and 16" .223. Those are now gone and replace with 10.5" 300 blk and an 11.5" .223. They balance so much better with the suppressor on. As far as choice of suppressor, I'd go with the Silencerco Omega if I had it to do over again (shorter and lighter than SpecWar and Saker). I went with the SpecWar because it was all that was out at the time.

I'm seriously considering the Silencerco Harvester. I know there is no QD but with a couple of adapters it will fit all I will use it for. The length and weight are very attractive. I know that they aren't full auto rated but hey, neither are my rifles.

Yes but when hunting, how often would one shoot more rounds than that? And they have videos showing full mags being dumped through them. You just have to let it cool afterwards.

I understand what you are saying. Just letting the OP know the restrictions on them. When I am eradicating hogs I shoot more than 10 shots a minute. If the only hunting you will ever do is 1 or 2 shots and then done the Harvester should work well but I don't like having the restrictions. People may do mag dumps all the time with them but why chance voiding the warranty.
