The weather finally cooperated enough to shoot the new 7LRM at a little longer range. It was too muddy to be able to set targets up for really long shots but we could get to just under 800 yards. After truing the velocity I finished the day on a plate at 782 yards. I have to say that I'm very happy with the way this rifle is shooting. Hopefully the pasture will dry out enough that I can shoot to 1500 yards next weekend.

Very nice group. Look like you got a shooter!
If you shoot a young deer because a neighbor will shoot it, you are that neighbor.

What velocities are you getting out of the LRM?

What velocities are you getting out of the LRM? With the 180 gr. Berger Hybrid the rifle is shooting 3083 f.p.s. I am using Gunwerks load data and the only thing I have changed is the seating depth.

I had a chance to shoot again today and even with a wind blowing 12-15 the rifle still shoots better than I can. The pasture I could get into only allowed me to set up steel to 700 yards and with the wind blowing from almost three o'clock that proved to be plenty long enough. The first shot with a cold clean bore was a little more than 0.5 MOA high at 500 yards and I overestimated the wind by 0.5 minute. At 600 yards the wind was really making itself known and I had to hold 2.5 minutes to account for the drift. I finished at 700 yards and I knew pulled that last shot before I even saw the impact on the steel. I'm confident in the data I have for the rifle now and just need the weather and my schedule to sync up so I can shoot it out to 1400+.

Wow! Great shooting! I can only dream of shooting that accurately. I need to practice!
I've never tried farther than 300 yards.

Those are some great long range shooting.
You have done excellent job accurizing your gun.
Most people don't have a place that they shoot that far you are blessed.

I'd love to 'pull' a shot and have it off center by 6" at 700+ yards. That's some damn fine shooting.
