Click on your link above. When the page opens up then go to right side of the pic to the "Share Links" part. Left click on the Image Code portion and it will turn yellow and say "copied". Then go to your thread and paste it on the post.

By the green foliage on the trees, and the wound on the side of the deer, I'm guessing archery season? I'm looking at the neck and it's not swollen yet, so this must be opening weekend of archery season? I hunt in East Texas, and our mature deer, lets say 4.5 and up, have beam length between 21-24" long. This could be a big factor in this particular deer when scoring it, because I've only killed one deer in the southern region of texas that would amount to a hill of beans. The deer was 7.5yrs old and only had 18" beams. The body weight of that deer in the pic looks light. At my very first glance, with me hunting mostly in east texas, in about a half a second, I told myself that's a 150, but if that deer's from the south, the beams could definitely drop the score at least 5". But even so, I would hope he scored better than the high 130's. If that was an east texas deer, it would be a 150. The deer that I killed in travis county was a 12pt and looked like a 150 on the hoof, but when I walked up to him after the shot, he was in the mid 120s. If you put a guy in a situation where he's hunting smaller bodied deer, he'll almost always big-eye the rack because he's used to hunting deer that are 50-100lbs bigger. Kinda like the opposite of going to Canada and looking at a 160 and thinking he's a 140.

That's cool, Im glad our 3 yr olds don't look like that because they would rarely make it to the 4 yr old mark. The state made antler restrictions a while back in east tx and it has helped substantially. If you can get a east tx buck to make it to 4 years old his chances of making it to 5 yrs old or even older are great. At the 4 yr year old mark they have developed some awesome survival skills. When they see humans or smell humans there is no stopping and looking, stomping, snortin and blowin, its just tuck tail with no noise and get down and brown and run the hell out of there. They can be like hunting a stealth bomber. Our 3 yr olds average beam length in east tx is 17 to 19 inches long and a typical framed deer rarely will break out of the 120s. On occasion there will be that freaky non typical 3 yr old that will score high. That deer that you killed would be a good east tx 4 year old judging the mass, and tine length, but on the over the hill side lets say 7 yrs old or better they loose mass sometimes and if you didn't know the deer it could be an old deer that was a lot heavier at one point and time. I always try to look at the body first and then the antlers judging age before antler. Our 4 yr olds and up look like UFC fighters right before the rut. up
