I got 7. The x sight did pretty well. My biggest problem was remembering to start the video recording. I didn't realize how much I shaked. These are amatueristic videos. I'll get better as time goes by.

Forgot to hit record until after I shot this one.

Got bored on the first stand so I recorded this guy.

Another one bites the dust

One more

Last one
Trapped hog. This guy was a tough one.

Glad I don't have Photosensitive epilepsy (PSE), LOL.

Good on the hogs.

Funny how you gotta hit record before shooting in order to record the shot - something we have all experienced.

Assuming PSE is what made people nauseous at the the Blair Witch Project movie?

I gotta work on my filming ability. I may be able to edit with an iPad to make them shorter and less annoying.

The PSE was for the flickering. The waving around and such (Blair Witch motion sickness) comes with time and understanding as dfwroadkill indicated, and some creative editing. My wife still can't watch most of my videos without getting motion sick. Funny thing is that through the scope, you don't notice. It is rather normal and expected. As video, not so much.

There was one I never shot at. That might have been the one. I got too complacent and they figured out I was there.

Even though I got seven, the one that got away still bugs me. Oh well.

The X-Sight has a built in recorder.

Correct, as VA said, I am using the internal recorder. I started playing with editing apps last night. I think I can make these prettier.

Beaubien - If you are using Windows 7 or later, Windows Live Movie Maker does a pretty good job and is easy to learn to use. Several of us are using that.

I'm using an iPad. I may have to use my wife's computer. Thanks for the advice DF, I will check it out.

That's certainly what it looks like!

I just want to give the hogs a sporting chance.

Nice but was very hard to watch due to the bouncing. Are you using shooting sticks? I find the tripods work best for me. I even got a 2 point rest for the one I have to steady my shots and recordings.

I was actually setting on a four wheeler or off hand standing up. I need to get a set of shooting sticks. It hasn't been a problem until I ttried recording. It was my first attempt. I did edit the video of the hog in the trap and it was much more watchable.

Thanks for the feedback.

3 words, Windows Movie Maker lol, doubt you can edit all the shaking, but you can save my eyes next time by editing 95% of it out ha

what caliber are you using?

looks like you have a good place for hunting hogs, i'm not far from you in Turkey....maybe we can meet up and I'll let you try the thermal....

David would love to meet up with you sometime. I live out in the east mountains. At the Sedillo exit to be exact.

I go to the Bighorn range most weekends. PM me if you want to check it out.

Lots of pigs on the lease. I used a 300 BLK on those. Currently looking for a new toy. A whole thread on that. Was convinced I wanted a 458 socom but that might not be a good idea with an x sight. Now I'm mulling over a new 308, possibly a 6.5 or 6.8. Can't seem to commit which is unusual for me, I buy on impulse.

As for the video, got similar responses elsewhere. I knew they were terrible when I posted but felt the need to share. ( the pain?). I have a better idea of what I need to do now.

Which X Sight do you have? And what range were you killing from?

Damn I didn't even notice where you were from lol. If you want to try a 458, let me know, I have one and a couple 450 Bushmaster and many others.

I'm a member of Zia range, closer for me. If I were to recommend a just for hogs it would be the 6.8 shooting 120gr SST's. Low recoil, available ammo, etc. Lot of other good guns like the 6.5, my thought is you get one of each lol.

I had the 5x X-Sight but now have the 3x. Easier to hog hunt with, although I have to say, when you have a thermal scope, nothing else gets used much. We'll have to talk about leases too.

I'll send you a PM with contact info.

5X

These were 75 yards and under. The x sight seems to be good for about 200 yards or so at night with a good IR. I have the UNV 20 IR. YMMV
