Just got some new arrows and would like to put some broadheads on them. What do i need to do this? i asked the guy at academy and he said you need a type of glue. can anyone help tell me how to do this?

Are they wood arrows?

No they are composite.

Cut them to length. Glue in insert depending on arrow size. Stand them up in a corner over night nock towards ground. Screw in broad head and enjoy. They sell nock and insert glue, but I have used loc tite super glue with the same results. Make sure you inserts are fully seated. I use my buddies jig and dremel tool to cut mine. Most archery shops will cut them for you for a small fee.

They need to be cut pretty square.

Cut your arrows to length, but do you have the proper arrow chop saw. That could get nasty, its a high speed precision cutter specially designed for cutting arrow shafts. DONT MESS THEM UP! if they are already the proper length that's good. Stick one in your bow and draw it back. You need to make sure everything is in the clear and wont hit your riser, Some older bows are not broad head friendly. I normally have my arrows cut one inch past my rest at full draw. The best way to get proper flight out of a fixed broad head is to screw the broad head into the insert all the way and tight, and then glue it inline with your fletching. Look down the shaft before the glue dries and adjust your broad head in the shaft with the vanes/fletching being perfectly inline. The adjustable nock will come in handy when you need to make sure your vanes don't hit your rest. If you need to cut your arrows take them to a shop. Trust me you can mess em up real quick and you also don't want some boomerangin flight out of them.
