This is a bowie that I just delivered to a client. The blade and guard/butt cap are from steel of building 1 and 2 of the World Trade Center. The handle is Horse Chestnut. It was the last tree of 13 trees that George Washington planted. He planted one for each colony. This one was planted for the Georgia colony. The gold inlay is 24kt. I test all of my knives before finishing. This one I used to chop a few 2x4's with and a few soda pop cans. With most properly done forged bowies you should be able to cut at least 10 2x4's and still split a hair. With knowledge of the knife you can do better. I can chop about 30 or so boards with mine and still cut slivers off a single hair. Again, that is not me tooting my horn, that is to explain what a proper knife should do. I think I show some cutting on my utube channel, if not yall tell me and I will figure out where they are at and get a link or something to it.

Thanks guys. I have lurking and reading the hog hunting forum for a year now and thought it best to finally sign up. My wife and I both hog hunt and use our knives to field test with so I know what I am delivering. She shoots a Contender in 300 blackout and I use a single shot 7x57 to do all my hunting with. This last year we have been using my Sendero Bush design from Whiteriver. It has held up well with hogs and deer.
I have been making knives many moons now, I think this year is 35 years full time. It is not often I have anything "loose" for sale that I make. Jason, good to see you are here too.
On the bowie, there is more to the story that I did not put down. The client that ordered the knife was there the day after the fall of the towers and was handing out Asprin and water etc so he wanted the knife from that steel. The layer count of the Damascus is one short of the number of police and firemen that died that day, kinda of like a missing man formation but I called it a missed man weld. The pattern in the Damascus is to remind folks that the sun still rises over America.
