It's been along time but I finally connected with a Spring Gobbler. This hunt had it all. We heard the birds early this morning and saw that Tom's strutting and fighting in the field. They moved down and around the road from us. My brother and I climbed up to the top of the hill and I could hear them gobbling and fighting each other. I had to put the belly crawl from the top of the hill down to where the Tom's were fighting. What a sight it was to watch 2 mature Tom's fight each other. After the first fight the winning Tom mounted and breed with a hen right in front of me, 35 yards. No sooner did he finish breeding with the hen and bam! he was fighting again with the other Tom. This old boy zigged when he should have zagged.
