So last night I was headed from church to our place to finally see if the gobblers were in the mood for love this morning. Look at my phone and there's a call from the alarm company. Wife is headed home alone, so I turn around and go home. She doesn't answer her phone, so that adds to the frustration. Everything is good at the house, probably a low battery caused it. PO'd all night 'cause I packed up for no reason. This morning the dogs go nuts over a squirrel. I miss her 4 times and finally connect on the 5th. (This is kill #40 something, but I'm determined to put a dent in this population!) My usual toss into the washed-out phone cable ditch at the back corner of my property is off and she lands on the far side. I open the gate and push her in the ditch. (The hawks and foxes eat well around here.) Look around a bit and find this:

The tiles are 16X16. This is the second decent drop I've found at home. The first was almost as big, with more mass, 25 yards from my front door. The picture really doesn't do it justice. Looks like maybe an old boy starting on the decline, but what do I know.

Looks like you don't need to be looking for a deer lease after all. Set up the pop up and load up the Hoyt! Neighbors will never know.

Can you hunt there? I don't know if I would hunt a buck like that who lived by my house or just hope to see him running around from time to time, but I sure would have at least one game camera out, and probably several just to see what's going on at night.
