Thanks for the help and advice all! After much deliberation, I decided to go with the Silencerco Omega. I looked hard at the Saker as well. In the end, I went with lighter over being able to use the Saker on shorter 223/556 barrels, of which I dont currently have anyway.

So... 4 or 5 months from now, I can give you my impressions lol..

BTW.. ordered them from the silencershop... If you think ordering them online is easy, you should give them a call... in less than 5 min, I was 2K lighter in the ol' pocketbook lol.. . (ordered 2 of them plus the tax stamp).

My SBR and suppressor stamps should be coming in at the same time, along with the start of a new HS football season... whats not to like about that! lol

Nice! I purchased a couple myself smile. They have the Omega adapters for the 556 AR's but not the 9/16 - 24 adapters. I wanted an AA 6.5 Grendel which is 9/16 but I cannot locate an adapter for the 5/8 Omega. May have to buy from PFA which isn't a bad thing but I sure like the look of the AA Hunter smile

Ordered mine first week of March so I'm waiting with you.

You could also find a barrel adaptor or send your barrel to Morgan and have him rethread it to 5/8.

I had all the full auto fun I wanted in my late teens. And I sure as heck don't have the money to do it anyhow. Funny how buying a case of ammo was no big investment in the nineties. Now you have to get a loan . . .

But I do see the point. But 11oz. That is light. And I have shot over ten rounds tearing up a big sounder. But that is the exception, not the norm.

Oh I hear you on the ammo, lots of people want to shoot the bumpstock, the rule is you bring the ammo if you want to play. That being said, I couldn't be happier with the specwar either way.

It isn't an easy decision that's for sure.

I bought the Griffin Sportsman DT (direct thread) for hunting use. It's rated for 20 rounds and then a sustained rate of three rounds per minute. I can't believe it will be as durable as the Specwar, but I could be wrong, as it's got a replaceable sacrificial baffle. There's about a 10 oz difference in weight between the two models. If Griffin made a 1/2x28 taper mount in 7.62 caliber, I would have bought the Sportsman TM (taper mount) instead, but they don't, so I went direct thread. It's also comparatively inexpensive, and Griffin has a great reputation. I've emailed questions to their technical support and always received a prompt response. It's currently in Form 4 jail.

I think CRUX is out of my price range unless their retailers can get a much better deal than their website indicates. I think for my ARs and bolt (all 5/8 24, all 16" or longer) the Omega makes the most sense. Just gotta get all my trustee signatures and I'm off and running!

I do have a harvester as well as the old 762SD. I get more use out of the harvester. It moves from 223, 22-250, 6.5 creed and 300blk bolt rifles. Weight (lack of) is what makes it nice and I don't run many rounds through it. Just hunting and some range shooting. Last suppressor purchase was going to be a silencerco pistol can but ended up going with the griffin revolution 45 instead. Griffin 338 vs harvester big bore is my next decision. Nice to have so many options in cans but I tend to favor silencerco. Talked suppressors at shot show a couple years in a row and really like what silencerco is doing but others are catching up and turning out great products I want an omega also but the 762 sd will do for now.

IIRC they are only rated at 10 shots per minute.

Silencershop and SilencerCo did a video with a .308 20-round ammo dump through the Harvester. You just have to let it cool down.

Good find on the video and thanks for posting it and for most hunters it will work just fine. Personally if I buy a suppressor it is a 1 time purchase so I want something I can shoot however I want.

+1 That is why I went for the Specwar, plus I like the QD mount.

That is very understandable. However, I own two rifles other than my two ARs. And one of those is an R15. I only hunt. I don't spend a lot of rounds down range at the range. Most of my ammo is spent on flesh. Either way the sound suppression will be nice. However, I am not limited to just one. I really was looking to get a YHM Phantom LT but it has been difficult to catch them in stock as of late. Because the QD would be nice.

I'm going Omega. It's on order now after watching some youtube vids and actually fondling one at my class III FFL. Eric Pierce @ AGUN4YOU in Flower Mound. He has a demo that we're supposed to try out very soon. It's too cool. Having two mounting systems already in the package price and flexibility to go to smaller calibers with a different end cap makes a perfect sense. Kudos to Silencerco. Will use on both 300 blks (16" and SBR 10.5"), Savage 308 bolt, and then finally 5.56 AR.

Disappointed with my last silencer experience. Picked up my cans at Silencer Shop on 2/13 and while I was there I paid for a Griffin Armament Rev 45. Was told I would get an email copy of my invoice etc. nothing had arrived via email by Monday 2/16 so I sent an email to them with my trust attached. Never recieved any reply. On 3/26 I asked for an update and was informed that my Form 4 was mailed on 2/23 and the email on file was correct and they didn't know why I wasn't receiving emails. Fast forward to Tuesday 3/14 and I send them another email asking if the check had cleared on this item and they get back to me stating it has not been cashed and they are going to reprint and resubmit the form 4. No idea what happened but two months of wait time were wasted and nothing has been done without me asking what's going on. Still have not received an email without first asking what is going on. I'm going to call today. My suspicion is that Silencer Shop has gotten too big and too busy to take care of their customers.

Sorry to hear about that. I will say that I am not (yet) an existing customer of theirs, but I emailed them yesterday and got a response in less than 15 minutes which included them reading some documents before they replied.

They always answer my emails within minutes and are very accommodating. Just pissed me off that two months have been wasted and if had not inquired nothing would have been done.

Westexhunt - I've done some business with SS, and I've been super pleased with the process. Sorry yours hasn't gone well.

That is unfortunate, I have had nothing but great interactions with them. They are super responsive and took care of my last can quickly like always. Hopefully they get it figured out and resolved.

This is not my first purchase from them and I have sent them quite a bit of business. I called today and the person that handles the atf issues was not there. Paul was very nice and asked that I call back on Monday. Just want to know what is going on. SS suggested that everything may be fine they just had not cashed the check yet. A friend of mine purchased a can locally about 3 weeks after I made the Rev purchase and his check was cashed within 10 days.

Mine paperwork was sent off on the 6th of Mar and cashed on the 12th, so yea something seems wrong there.

I ordered 2 from them in the Fall. Check was cashed quick. I waited and then got a call that one was approved. I figured I would wait until both were approved before driving down and picking them up in person. I waited 2 weeks and then called the ATF myself. Had to give Silencer Shop's info (on the application)to get the info from the ATF, they wouldn't release the info when I gave the Trust's info. Turned out that both suppressors were approved the same day. Called Silencer Shop and found out they had both stamps waiting. Would have been nice to know earlier since I was in Central Texas during that 2 weeks I was waiting and could have made time to pick them up then. After the call, I got an e-mail notice from Silencer Shop that both stamps were in.
