I have used Spincast MK-1's for decades. Today I was told that they may no longer be made. What would you recommend for a solar powered feeder? The Spincasts were around $180 with a solar panel. I have a feeder finished with no feeder motor to distribute the yellow stuff..

Mumme's seems to have the best price around for All Seasons feeders and parts.
You can get the All Seasons evolution control unit for $129. This unit is equipped with a 12v motor, The Timer and eliminator spinner plate.
You can also get the All Seasons 12v solar panel w/bracket for $35
So $164 plus tax and shipping up

I think the Spincasts use a 6volt battery. I am hoping to find a replacement brand/model using the same batteries for interchangibility.

We used to run spincast units. They're expensive, hard to program, and I think reliability has turned to carp. Replaced all of ours with Moultrie units. 10 years later they still run strong. $35-$40 a piece and the mounting is exactly the same as spincast. No need to drill new holes or mess with alterations.

Killin I am with you. I have always loved spin cast. 2 years ago my one of mine finally died, then this year th3 other. When I took them down there was writing on the back that said "Sept 1993". Yes 1993!
I have since replaced with these although I didn't get the eliminator plate. Have been very pleased and think they will last. Good luck.

X3. Great Unit. I would step up to the 12V system.
