I originally bought a Kimber Pro Carry II with the intention to carry concealed. It's just a little uncomfortable for me. I'm in the process of trying to trade it, but looking to purchase possibly a Kimber Solo or Glock G26. Anyone have experience with either as conceal carry guns? Or another similiar sized? Curious on comfort level and what type holster you use.

I carry a shield. Popped a pig in the chest with it at about 50 yards the other day. Carry it inside the waist band. It's pretty easy on the fat roll.

The holster is the most important part for comfort. I carry a Cross Breed IWB about 3 o'clock and like it a lot. There are some other good options out there. But you will end up buying and trying several holsters, trust me. A G26 or G27 is a pistol easily concealed. I carry a G29 about 95% of the time with no problem. Any of the sub compact pistols will work well, and even the compact models are concealable. http://us.glock.com/products/all

I like the G23. That is the one I carry and it is able to be concealed easily.

I'm leaning toward a G26, but something has me intrigued to give the Solo a look. Thanks for replies, as comfort will be determining factor for me.

If comfort is it, then look into the various holsters. I don't think there would be any comfort difference between a G26 and a G19. It will have to do with the holster on the comfort level.

I carry a G27 (same size as the 26) in appendix carry kydex. Love it, once you get over the initial comfort of it you'll never even know it is there and it never prints. Wish I would had carried like this years ago.

I despise safety's on pistols, ecspecially carry pistols. Go with the Glock 26/27/30/33 all are compact models and choice of 9/40/45/357 respectively.
Holsters are the key to comfortable carry, as mentioned above. For IWB kidney carry I prefer something with a little bit of cushion next to the body and Kydex or polished leather on the pants side so it slides a little easier instead of grabbing your pants and making sitting and standing awkward.

Here is some great info about appendix carry. There is also several links in the description of the video to check out.

If you haven't handled a Kahr, you might want to check one out. The CW series is inexpensive, easy to carry and conceal, and reliable. There are other models worth looking at also.

Really appreciate all the help/suggestions. Being fairly new to conceal carry, I really don't know alot about available holsters other than what ive seen at cabelas/academy. As mentioned in my OP, It was my original intention to carry my kimber pro carry 2 in a Milt Sparks VMII holster. After a few test runs, I want something more compact overall. I feel this would fit my needs better, especially during summer.

You holster selections at Academy and Cabela's are going to be pretty poor, honestly.

This is also my suggestion. The CW series Kahr is an awesome pistol. My wife carries the CW9 or when needing something smaller the CW380. They have proven very reliable and the CW9 is surprisingly accurate. They have no safety, an excellent trigger for CC. And the wife can operate the slide with no issues with her tiny hands.

Yeah after getting the milt sparks, I quickly realized his work/craftsmanship out shines those holsters I've seen at previously mentioned stores.

How do the Kahr pistols pictured compare to G26 and Kimber Solo in size?

The Kahr above will be a smaller and lighter pistol, since it's a single stack, where the Glock is a double stack. If I am not carrying my G29, I am carrying my Kahr PM40.

The Kahr is really neat looking. I'm going tomorrow and check out some carry possibilities. Any others to consider?

I choose daily based on the size of my front pants pocket. The only tough part with carrying this way is learning to put your car keys on your off side.

G36.
Why is this gun not mentioned? Best cc carry IMO.
