My son is about to turn 18 and he is a shooter on the Marcus Clay Target Team. Mom and I have talked and we want to buy him a nice shotgun for his birthday. Currently he is using a shotgun that his uncle has loaned him.

We have a budget of approximately $2500 for the gun. Kyle really likes Over/Under and he want's a 30inch barrel. If you have a gun that you are looking to sell or know of a gun, please let me know. -

Check back tomorrow, they will re-list it. Be sure you read all they offer. They will have the same shotgun for more and less money. I have several guns from these guys .

Check out the Winchester Select Energy Trap or Sporting models. I bought one with adjustable comb. Mine had to be shortened about half inch to fit correct but its a great gun for the money. Remember it must fit well for him to shoot well whatever you buy.

My son is on the Flower Mound CTT, go Jags! smile

We bought a like new Browning Cynergy 28" O/U for under $1,500 here on THF about 2 months ago. It's a really sweet shooting gun, even has me shooting the clays really well. Give it a look.

The number 1 thing to remember is make sure the gun fits him. It won't matter if the gun is a kreighoff. If it doesn't fit he won't hit. With that said look into the browning cross over. It's is a lot of gun for the money. You will be able to buy the gun and still have a few bucks left for shells. I know a lot of people who are very happy with it.

Find a Browning Crossover Target new for about $1,600-1,700 or a used one for less. Get ready, because you are going to spend way more on targets and ammo than the gun in the first year.

I would suggest a Beretta 686 Silver Pigeon. You can get a new one for around $1,900 and use the extra money n targets.
