That's possible.

Anyways what rings do you like fireman?

Picked up a set today at cabelas. Had a gift card and went to kill some time. Reviews were overwhelmingly completely positive. The rings seem to be built like a tank. I really was pretty set on the seekins, but the reviews were so good I decided to give them a shot.

Badger Ordinance and Talley Tactical. Seems a moot point now.

Personal preference. I mount the nut side on the opposite side of the ejection port. But I have a Viper PST that rides on a LH 7 Rem Mag as well as a RH 7mm-08. The nuts on the right side on the 7mm-08 have not caused any problems. Most rifles eject way more horizontally than vertically anyway.

Warne rings damaged the scope tube on my trijicon. Needless to say, into the garbage can those went. Bought a set of seekins to replace them.

And yes, I always torque my rings.

Nope, not a moot point. I'll have to buy rings for other scopes. I had a set of talley lightweights that I ended up having to replace on a rifle a few months ago. Rifle wouldn't hold zero. Switched em out for a set of leupolds I had at home and it shoots fine now. Not sure what was up with those.

I looked at the Badgers, and they looked really good. It's pretty likely the scope I'm running now will be replaced at some point, and end up on another rifle. So I'll have to buy more rings then. I did my research before I bought the Warnes, and I think I'm going to be happy with them for the time being. Plus the $120 savings over the seekins, since I had a gift card, meant I was able to order 100 rounds of match ammo from chad.

What you had weren't Talley Tactical. Look at those on SWFA, they are very well built. Low hold Locktite, torqued down, done forever.

Oh I know they aren't the same, but you know how it can be, have one bad experience and it leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

Sure.

A $100 Bushnell is not the same as a Bushnell Elite Tactical either.

Have you removed the scopes from the rings yet?

I had to move the first in a 1/4 inch if there was damage it would have shown.

Sounds like those may be keepers. Mine were garbage.

I have Warne bases and rings on nine rifles, never had a problem.

Don’t roll those bloodshot eyes at me.
