After a disastrous opening day Saturday, this came in Sunday morning on a rope!

Good bird! Congrats And why was Saturday disastrous??? Birds just not work or did you pull a Smiling Mallard and swallow your dip when you went to make your first run of yelps

Good bird! Congrats And why was Saturday disastrous??? Birds just not work or did you pull a Smiling Mallard and swallow your dip when you went to make your first run of yelps It rained all night Friday night and al day Saturday...stuck the truck trying to get to my first spot and no cell service. Birds were not responsive to calling. I head one bird gobble one time Saturday. Totally different Sunday morning. Birds were gobbling everywhere.

what call (brand and type) were you using Gamblinman? Started him with a David Halloran box and finished him off with a Woodhaven Cherry Classic Crystal pot call and a Hooks Devastator mouth call. He hung up behind me at 50 yds in some trees and I went silent. He couldn't stand it and 10 minutes later came in strutting. Gman

Congrats. We were out with a youth group in that Saturday monsoon, and it was pretty easy to get stuck. Had one guy bury his truck up to the axles and spin the tires until he ripped one. Activity definitely got better Sunday on...
