I am thinking about purchasing a 338 lapua. I have shot several of the Savages in 338 and while I like them I would like to have something better. I am looking at the Sako. I know some of you have them. Are they as accurate as the other Sako rifles? Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. I am planning to put a niteforce NXS scope on it.

<<<< Hence my name handle, I know a little bit about them. I own a TRG 42 in 300 WM and have shot both TRG 42's in 300 WM and 338 Lapua. The TRG 42 in 338 Lapua will shoot 1/2 moa or better with good ammo. The TRG 42 is my first precision rifle I bought and is still one of my favorite rifles to shoot. I love the 2 stage trigger that can be set to your liking. The stock is adjustable and has all the right fit in the places I like. The factory Sako TRG bipod is ok. It's a little flimsy at times and fairly expensive. I currently use a Harris European rail adapter under the forend to mount a standard Harris bipod. It works ok, but isn't far enough forward for my liking. I'd recommend the Atlas forend adapter that mounts at the front of the TRG stock to get the bipod out further forward for better control. I shot one with this set up and liked it much better.
I'd also recommend the TRG 3 ring, 30 MOA ring set. I have this one, and it works well and is very sturdy.
Buy the TRG 42 with great confidence. I promise, it will out shoot you.

It is a precision rifle I like mine , tight group, nice trigger , it likes 300 gr the best I do recommend getting a muzzle brake ($150) Go for it
