What dart guns are yall using and how do you like the?. Currently using a pneu dart gun that model 389 I believe. Looking at getting a new gun and particularly interested in the pneu dart x-caliber and the dan dart gun. Wanting a CO2 gun that is quiet and accurate.

I have a pump up Sheridan. All my work is within a 100' and most within 30 ft. so it fits me perfectly. Very quiet and accurate. I had one of the older ones that used the blank charges but it was a POS.

How are y'all getting the sedative and antagonist for darting animals? Doesn't this have to be done by a vet, and administrated by a vet?

Just like getting a drug or pill from a doctor. And no it does not have to be administered by a vet.

I agree with Casey, I have 2 - 389's, 1 pump up, and a blow gun that we use all the time. I have used lots of different brands, but will stick with pneu darts. we take lots of long shots at times and the 389 does well. I have had problems with it being too hot on short ranges, because it just would not turn down enough. I will say this that there are alot of good guns and the key is practise all you can. Good Luck To You.

I have a very old Model 171C cartridge rifle that I got in 1991. IRRC is was if not their first or one of their very first ones they made. I have owned or shot the pump pistol, 193 and 389. I will never sell my old gun and have to have it re-barrelled once. Not sure what range you are talking about but CO2 will be shorter ranged than cartridge fire. They had a lot of problems with X-Caliber years ago when I looked at getting one. They are very heavy but can be very quiet. I know a guy that loves his and then a friend who hates his. I think they have greatly improved the X-Caliber though these days.

You have to or had to be using and under a Vets care for most drugs. I had to keep a log and account for every bottle of drug(Telazol) used and how many doses I used in order to be able to purchase again.
