This is a shameless- self promotion post of my bench and rifle.

First, shout out to the woman (whom some of yall have met). Thank god she ignores what I do on things like this. i am totally proud of this work bench.

Second, here is my rifle finally complete. Shout out to CDI Precision. They totally did the inletting for free on my blind mag stock. it cycled perfectly for all the 60 rounds yesterday.
I am now totally sold on my SWFA 3-15x42 scope. The FFp was a nicer feature than I thought. Although I am not quite as sold on it as some of the higher end shooters on here are. My favorite feature actually turned out to be the mil reticle to mil based adjustments. i was literally zeroed in with just 2 shots. the 2 shots ended up on the bottom of the paper. So I measured it on mils with the reticle on the center of target. Dialed exactly those mils (3mil up and 1.8mil right) and it was perfectly on point. After that, i thought I was having a great shooting day and the rifle feels great.

Now all I have to do it teach myself how to shoot this rifle at distances better.

That is an HS Precision. I believe they call is the M24. It was a solid blind mag when I bought it years ago.

I resemble that remark.

Now if I can get KR to drive up, we can schedule a day he has already paid for....

Ya'll should all read The Zombie Survival Guide by Max Brooks (writer of World War Z). I am totally not the reading type and couldn't stop reading this one. It was thoughtfully entertaining if you get past the initial premise that Zombies are real. In it, Max makes a fantastic argument for a crowbar.
Besides, crowbars are just awesome.

Shhh! you mu-sent let everyone know or all the crazies will start buying up all the ammo. Just look what they did just because Obama took office.

Btw, it's only organized because I haven't started using it as a reloading bench yet. That little tray organizer on the right doesn't even have anything in it yet, hahah.
I'll have more free time in mid April so by early May I'm sure it will look well used.

Sometimes those screws that hold scope bases to the action just won't come loose. No bench should be without a crowbar! nuts

Looks good, although I doubt it stays clean very long.

How's the glass on that scope. Have you looked through a vortex pst? If so are they similar.

I don't have too much experience with "high end" glass. before this, my finest was a older Nikon Monarch and a VX3. That said...

the "quality" of the glass was comparable to most I've seen in this price range. I looked at it side by side with my Leupold (vx3 4.5-14) in my front yard and I would have to say my leupold was slightly better?!?!?! But i would imagine that i couldnt tell the difference if i looked at them separately.

My buddy has the pst in ffp 6-24 (i think) and once again it was the very least on par with it. I have no idea if the difference would be noticeable if they weren't side by side. Actually, at this price range I thought the comparable Bushnell looked "clearer" to me than either of these 2 mentioned.

Besides, a large factor that tipped me towards the SWFA was fact that they're local Texas company. It may not matter much to some, but it was enough of a positive that I decided to ignore whatever perceivable difference there may be versus comparable competitors.

The few who have met my wife will tell you for sure I aint the man. I lucked out with a woman who likes this kind of bs.

The funny story I tell everyone is when we were dating she hesitantly told me she owned some guns and if i was uncomfortable with it then this may not work out. I laughed at her and told her, "sweetie, you own guns. I collect guns, I think I'll be ok with it."
Besides, I'm putting here rear to work, especially when I move on from my rifle to her precision 223 bolt.
