Guys,

Do you clean your brass before you resize/deprime it or after you resize it?

Thanks,

Mel

Before. I soak brass in a bucket of acetone to remove the lube if necessary.

If you do not clean the brass before you size, you will scratch the die, which will scratch every single case after that.

Good words of wisdom from a man that does it for a living! I do it to have them cleaned and see imperfections and insure identity before going further, bad eyes and nothing bugs me like having a 10mm in the bunch of 40s&w.

I've always cleaned first but never cleaned after that...

What do you use...how long the first time and how long the second?

Start to finish how many days does it cover between the first cleaning and complete bullet?

I am not quite sure what your question is. I typically tumble my brass 4-7hrs. After the brass is clean it takes me around 60-90 minutes per 100 to prep and load rifle ammunition with a single stage press and weighing each powder charge. I load all of my pistol ammo on a Dillon 550B progressive at a rate of 400-500 rounds per hour.

I only reload for bolt action rifles. I just clean the brass with some steel wool, I don't know if this is bad or not but I haven't had any problems. I don't own a tumbler, might buy one when I start reloading more ammo.
