Does anyone prefer nickeled rifle brass and for what reason do you/don't you? I pickup a lot of different calibers at range to give away/trade/reload so was wondering about preferences.

Don't care for it. When shooting factory ammo I liked it because it looks neat.

It is hard, trims hard, chips and can scratch dies.

Was wondering about that, carbide pistol dies are not a issue but standard rifle dies could be a problem.

i have a lot of it (pistol- no experience with nickled rifle)
and it's as good as any. if any does happen to chip, you just
toss it as said before. I've not had any problems with any of
mine (some older than a few of the folks here)other than worn
out primer pockets and such that occurs with normal unplated brass

I don't care for it one bit and I don't bother trying to load it in rifle calibers. It's hard on reloading dies, it seems difficult to get it to size consistent and the neck life seems way too short due the hardness making them brittle. But that's just my
I'm sure others have had different results.

I have used nickel rifle and pistol brass for many years. Never seen a problem with damage to dies, never seen one chip and trimming is no problem. I'd say case life is equal to any other brass.
