Started to reload a bunch of .223 today and it appears that when I de-primed and sized the brass, the necks too small to fit a Hornady 55gr V-Max. Is this pilot error or just cheap brass? The brass is a mix of Perfecta and other "inexpensive" brass.

Chamfer in side and might as well do the outside of neck and see if that resolves the issue

There's a lot to learn and then do when you start loading your own...and since I started shooting long range...that's when I found out just how much I didn't know and am still learning!

Good luck!

That's why I posted it on here....way too much experience not to tap into it.

Thanks for the help. I'll run up to 10 Ring tomorrow and pick up the necessary tools.

I have reloaded thousands of the 55gr VMax bullets & have never had any problem with fitting in the necks or seating. Sure it looks like they are to big for the neck size but they have slide in for me. Just my 2 cents & experience I have had with them.
