What are you favorite survival knife makers? Just curious what people like to have in their BOB.

Hard to beat the tried and true Kbar. Yes some will turn up their noses at it because its not a full tang but it has proven its self plenty of times in some of the harshest conditions decade after decade. Oh......and the fact that it doesn't cost $500 will keep a lot of "survival" crowd from wanting one. grin

I carried a BushMonkey Slumdog with me on my most recent deployment. All I can say is it is a proven and reliable tool.

I'm with JCB. I think the KaBar is just about perfect for what it was designed for. The only drawback is that they are inexpensive and therefore not exclusive enough. I've even skinned several hundred deer with one. But wait...isn't the blade too long and awkward for skinning and gutting? Nope. And when severing the connection to the spine and dropping the guts into the gut bucket, I can reach into the chest cavity with that 7 inch blade and make the cut without getting blood on my suit jacket or white dress shirt. If I wore a suit and a white dress shirt.....

This one is my favorite. Nothing survives that gets in the way of this knife. LOL.
