We put out a couple of protein feeders ended up putting them on the edges of the existing food plots seems logical. I also had a thought to stick them back in the woods in a little clearing off some deer trail but didn't do it this way. Be to hard to get to and disturb the woods getting to them.

Deer will use them if they need them, where ever you locate them. Just that mature bucks will not use them as readily until close to dark and before good daylight in the more open areas. I would have put the second one over by the cedar tree or more to the right at the brush line. That is a good location with the finger draw it is located by. I would have put the top one just inside the brushline.
Are idiots multiplying faster than normal people?

We put ours in cover away from blinds and feeders off the beaten path. We want the deer to go to them with out hesitation or any fear. Going in to fill them is once every 2 or so weeks. It wont bother them as bad as going out in open. They will hit ours all times of day or night. Getting the protein out and getting them what they need is most important though. Nice looking place.

This is what I wanted to do I got outvoted 2 to 1 so we put them in the food plots. Still have a few more to put out I'm going to get one a little into cover.

Hunters like to put them where they can watch them. Put a camera on them so you can see the change from week to week. Save the pictures and notice how the change happens. Day to day tough to notice in early stages of growth but once the later growth the growth over a week or two you will be able to notice. They will hit the protein as long as they need it.

Your plan works for me. I try to find a clearing so that they do not have to get very far away from cover. Keeps them from being nervous. I've seen some feeders that apparently were placed so it would be convenient to check them while driving down the highway at 60mph.
