Here are some older picks, 1998 through about 2005, many of them are because of the backdrop or the memory.
First two are of the best dog I ever owned, out of Elhew Damascus like Sadie is

Buck pointed this covey on a hilltop before any of us had our vests on:

10 year old when he was 8 mos old:

My dads best dog out of buck, toughest hardest hunting female I have ever hunted with

75 pheasants about to boil out on this South Dakota hilltop in front of my early 90s dog Jake

I have a pointer backing this point.

My setters are Hytest and Grouse Ridge bloodlines. I have had an amazing run for 20 years with the Grouse Ridge bloodline. They just aim to please and are bird finding machines.

Great pics Somebeach, welcome to Texas and to the THF. Texas sucks from the perspective of 99.9% private land, constrained resource, and guys with means that drive up the price of poker when birds are lean. Hoping the birds come back strong where the economics will get a bit more reasonable for all.

They can be pointed in Texas too, just not for long. A blue quail only has two things on its' mind....That is leaving or getting ready to leave.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. It sure is a different expieriance of wondering which hunting spot you will try that day to looking for one you can afford! Setters appear more common in Texas than I imagined. I just moved from New Mexico where I lived for a year and i think I had the only setters in the state!

I don't hunt quail but this is definitely one of the coolest threads on THF that I have ever seen. Thanks to everyone who contributed. It has been a very good read.

Not a pointer, but this was her first bird and she was proud of it. No comments on the silver lab, I like her and she was a gift.

Hi, I'm new to the site but thought I should share some pictures of my Red Dog. This is John Wayne training in the fall. He is only a year old so this upcoming season will be his first to do real hunts.

I look forward to getting to know everyone on THF. If anyone needs a hunting partner let me know!

Tyler
