Looking for a new set of tires for my 2013 Ram 2500 Megacab 4x4. I have ran Michelin's on all my previous diesels but the guy at tire shop tried to sell me on the Toyo open country AT's. Has anyone had any experience with these?

God is deep but he is not complicated.

I haven't ran them on a diesel, although the 2015 powerstroke are coming with them from factory. I have ran the Toyo Open Country AT2 on my Z71. They are very aggressive looking for a AT tire. Just make sure they are the "Extreme " sizes.

I have Toyo Open Country AT2's on my F250 and they are awesome. No road noise like you get with Nitto's and the Toyo's put Nitto to shame in the wear category. I've got 50k+ miles on my Toyo's now and should have no problem getting another 20-30k more.
And for the record about 1/3 of my milage is pulling a trailer of some kind the biggest weighs about 12k lbs.

I run the MTs on one of my Cummins and the ATs on another. Been good tires and I have ran dam near every brand on my trucks. These have been right at the top overall.

Only got 25K on my last set of Toyo MT's on my F-350. Will not buy again. $1600 for 25k is not good math. It wasn't so much tread wear as it was balancing issues and 2 becoming out of round.

Sorry for your bad experience. This is the first I've heard of Toyo muds causing issue. I know a TON of folks running Toyo muds from 33" to 40" without any issue.

That's crappy to hear Mark, I got 43k out of mine on a diesel pulling trailers. I guess everybody's due to make a bad batch once in a while. The summertime skinnies are on for now but I've got a set of 295's coming for my other rims before dove season.

FWIW when my tire guy sold me on the M/T's he told me he would prorate my next set if I didn't get 40 out of them.

I've never ran the MT's but have three sets of AT 2. In fact 2015 F250's I think they are part of the fx4 package.

My favorites is the Toyo AT with close second being the Duratrac

I figured the AT's were just as good, I've got a set of '12 factory takeoffs on now with michelins, but once these are done in the next couple of summers I may have to switch to the AT. I just can't afford to not have whatever help I can get during hunting season, these goats don't like the muck

Ford is no different. When it's wet in the panhandle I park mine, and grab the ranch 1/2 ton

They better be as good as advertised by you slaps. Bought a set to go on Joshua's 1/2 ton 4wheel drive. My pocket hurts, but they have to last longer than the BFG M/T.

They'll go 50k on that truck James. If I still had any tread left on mine in January them I wouldn't have needed your big [censored] on my tailgate to get outta the field

I ran them on my '04 2500 and the '12 I had. Think I got about 43K on the '04 and about 47K on the '12. 2nd set on the '12 was Cooper Discoverer ATPs because I didn't have the patience to wait for Discount to special order another set of Toyos. Put 30K on the Coopers before I traded it in and they would have went 50K easy. Have a '13 now with the Coopers on it and love them. The tread pattern is very similar to the Open Country, plus they're a little bit cheaper. Either way, the Toyos are good tires, but I'd look at the Cooper ATP too.

I'm on my 2nd set of Toyo M/Ts on my '11 2500. Mine are 35s and I got right at 47k out of my first set. I would love to try out their A/T IIs but rock chips on a black truck look like flush

Good to know Bobo. I've only seen one set in person, but it was a small size. I may look into them in a year or so, once its time to replace my M/Ts.

I do think the side walls are little thicker on the MT's though.

The new RT's have really caught my eye, I make go with them next round. They are inbetween the AT II and MT

I've seen those as well. I've been waiting to hear reviews about them since they are so new.

Just put 35" RT's on last week. I originally wanted the AT 2 but they are back ordered. I am pleased. They look aggressive but they are quiet on the road.

I saw the R/T's the other day on a Jeep. I cant wait to see reviews either. I have 25k on my Nitto's right now and I anticipate that I will get at least 15-20k more out of them.

I saw a set of the Mastercraft Courser C/T's the other day. They look good for an A/T but I need to research before I make that plunge.
