This eight-hour rod-and-reel alligator gar trip for three typically begins around 6:30-7:00 a.m., depending on daylight. Trip will take place close to Lock and Dam Marina, approx. 10 miles west of Crockett, TX, approx 20 miles east of Centerville.

All tackle and bait is included.

About the guide
The guide has over 30 years of experience fishing all over the globe. He is a 20-year Army veteran and has caught Alaskan king salmon on the Deshka River, giant striper on the lakes and rivers of Arkansas, Saddam bass in Iraq, and the largest flat-head cats and alligator gar Texas has to offer.

After joining the Army, he was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas and quickly fell in love with all the wildlife Texas has to offer. He has made the Central Texas area his home for over 15 years, and has the knowledge and experience that it takes to get out and catch the big fish.

Where you will be fishing
Our adventures take us through the central parts of the Trinity River, which stretches through the beautiful and scenic Eastern Texas landscape. You will see all sorts of wildlife from white-tailed deer, water fowl, turtles and, of course, alligators (of the reptile variety). We have even seen majestic bald eagles on the river, which is always a beautiful sight.

Special Terms
Prime alligator gar season runs from May thru October.
Valid for the 2015/16 season.

• Good pair of gloves

• Sunscreen

Yes, one or two lines are usually put out for blue cats and op. Opelousas (Yellow Cat) are usually 20+ lbs
3) Will it safe to bring child aged 5yr.
Yes, it is safe to bring a 5 year old but it is not recommended that they fish for gar, they are built like torpedos. That's not to say he couldn't get in on the action with some small blue cats.

The average gar landed is 5 to 6 ft long.

The area you will be hunting/fishing is approx. 10 miles west of Crockett, TX on Hwy 7 West and approx 20 miles east of Centerville.
