Have to share this hunt, this great kid came to hunt with us this week wanting to hunt a nice red sheep with his bow. We talked some and told him this would be a pretty hard task as our red sheep are pretty skidish and probably would be a long shot, kids response was "no problem" I actively practice at 100 yards and am very comfortable at 80, my first thoughts were yea right lol. So off we go hunting Tuesday morning and after several attempts of getting one in range we backed out and went and ate lunch. While time I am thinking man this is going to be tuff, well after lunch we got back at it, once had one at 40 but our luck was another ram was directly behind him, after a few more hours we were heading back for a break when one that we were after was out about a little over 100 yards and we both decided to for him to put a short stalk on and get him about a 75 yard shot, well let me just say this young man drill this sheep right in his shoulder it was unreal! First thing I did was made a call to tell someone about this unbelievable shot and as I was telling the story the young guy corrected me and said when he ranged him he was 86!!!! We had an awesome hunt and he got an awesome ram! Congrats to him, I will never second guess him again lol. I did watch him practice in the morning at 90 and he was on with a 8 mile hour cross wind!
