I'm about to take on a remodel of my one car garage that's was built in the 50's so it's not really big enough for a car let alone my truck. Right now it is a junk room with a work bench that I built my holsters on, but I don't do that anymore so it's basically just unused space. A rough measurement is 19' long by 12' wide. About 3' is taken up already by washer, dryer, and steps down to it. So have about 16'x12' to work with. Was thinking about putting currogated metal on the walls and doing an industrial theme, but also thinking about using reclaimed wood for the walls just can't decide which is why I'm asking for pics. Much appreciated.

IMO only have the metal on the bottom with a chair rail (42" high) dividing from upper wall. Then you could use some cork board, paneling, barn lumber (rustic) or what ever wanted to finish out.

I was thinking about that as well since I'll be putting in a bar at 42" high would be nice to match the bottom with the bar and finish the rest out with rustic wood.

If you put in a bar, then all your friends start showing up and drinking all your liquor. Built a home theater and tell your friends to bring the alcohol to you.
It is far more important to be able to hit the target than it is to haggle over who makes a weapon or who pulls a trigger.

I like the look of this. Find someone that took down an old fence. Cheap way to get the look of barn wood. You can use it to trim, frame out, and to cover the walls. You can paint the walls behind it whatever color and leave a gap to make it stretch farther and it still looks pretty good.

This is what we did in our "barndominium". Corrugated tin on the bottom, fence wood on the top.

Those are great ideas. Telling them if they come to the bar they have to make donations of liquir or moneys to keep it stocked. Now just need to find someone that recently took down a fence lol.
LT230 That looks awesome exactly what I'm looking to do.

If you do the fence or barn wood, buy a roll of tar paper and mount it to the wall before you put up the wood. That way you don't see insulation or framing through the cracks and holes in the old wood. Found that out through observation....

My walls in the garage are finished out with drywall. I need to tape and bed it and fix a few spots where they cut out squares for some reason or another before I moved it. I also need to tap into and run some Romex so I can flush mount my TV with no wires showing and run a plug under the bar for fridge and/or kegarator. I'm going to start on it this weekend getting the electric ran and tape, bed, and paint the walls probably either black or a dark chocolate color like txshntr advised. I've watch a bunch of videos about reclaimed wood walls from pallets and they all say to paint the walls a darker color before hand so the cracks don't pop out at you.

Here are a few pics I found of pallet wood walls. I like the look, but free pallets around here are almost non-existant. WBurke said he had a bunch, but he is an hour away from me and to do this project I'd probably need to make 3-4 trips with my truck filled up to get it done don't know if it would be worth it in just the gas alone. Then of course breaking down all the pallets would probably be a full weekend project LOL.

I fear mine will be a continual work in progress for a while LOL. Also txshntr thanks for the idea about the fence. I'm an idiot I have the remnants of an old privacy fence that only covers the very back of our back yard the sides are chain link. I've been meaning to tear that old fence down and now I can kill 2 birds with one stone LOL. Can tear down the fence and reuse the wood for my garage. My boss also has several old weathered fence pickets I can have as well. Going to be a busy mofo the next couple of weekends.

You can rip them lengthwise into different widths and they stain easily.

Yea I think I'll be using fence pickets instead of pallets much easier to take apart and work with. I'll just have to miter the dog ear tops off which should be a jip.

You can get pickets without ears and 1"x dimensional lumber in various grades from Cedar Supply in Carollton. They have a lumber yard in Sherman as well.

Yea I saw the ones without dog ears, but really wanting ones that have already been weathered and free is always good so I can spend more money on the bar and tv LOL. Ballin on a budget over here..

Free is good. I take it you've already thought about calling a fence builder and asking for wood from a tearout.
