Ok knife makers,which one are you using and why?
It's time for me to replace my old dinosaur of an oven.

Mike I use an Evenheat KO22.5. I bought it about 9 years ago and within the last 5 years I added the Rampmaster controls. I bought it because the wifey has an evenheat ceramic kiln and it has performed flawlessly. She has gotten away from ceramics and sold it a couple of years ago for what she paid for it. The KO has also been equally as good. I have heat treated somewhere around 300 knives with it without an issue. I really like the rampmaster controls...it allows me to program and store 12 different heat treat settings which is nice if you do different steels.

Evenheat for me also. Never had any problems with it. You might look at Paragon, they are in Mesquite and that might save a little on shipping..

Thanks guys, I'm looking at both brands. I know that Kev bought his Paragon from one of the knife supply dealers and picked it up at the factory in Mesquite.

Well it looks like the 18" paragon is $230 more than the 18"Even Heat. I'll get a quote on shipping on the Even Heat and see what it is.

What was the price for the evenheat? And who did you use?

Also are you looking for the argon kit?

No argon kit. Heat treat foil and a little saw dust works good enough for me.
