I am wanting to get an affordable semi-auto shotgun and after reading I have my mind pretty set on a m3000, mainly for the inertia system. Seems like the issues that many had with the m2000 are now fixed. I am thinking of getting a 24" or 26" model and getting a tube extension to play with from time to time ( okay maybe all of the time). Looked at the m3500 but have no intention of using 3.5" shells. The Stoeger m3000 then Franchi Affinity and finally the Benelli M2 seems to be the order of niceness. Any thoughts, stories or pretty pictures?

I love mine. I have it in MAX4 camo and the finish has held up to 2 duck seasons so far and have never had a problem at all.

I've had my m2000 for 5 years, not one issue.

I also have the m2000 18.5 turkey gun with pistol grip stock for home defense I've had no issues either. Runs like a champ.

A lot of guys in 3gun like them. However, I have a Mossberg 930 and it runs like a top.

Glad to see two of the older models that were "plagued" with problems performing very well. How does the 930 work with cheap birdshot?

I bought a BNIB 2000 " Turkey" model a couple weeks ago from my best friends dad. The first rounds fired were pink light target loads my wife had and they cycled perfectly. Hopefully the demons of days past are gone from these shotguns

Been running it for 5 yrs both 2 3/4 and 3 without a hitch and its seen some rough hunts. Shoot, I may buy another. I can't justify paying $800+ for a gun thats gonna sit in a wet, muddy duck blind or see high temp days in a dusty field chasing dove.

After owning/shooting top of the line Berreta, Benelli, Remington, Browning and Winchester shotguns, it is hard to go back to a Stoeger. They just feel like swinging a 2x6 to me. If I wasn't a big wing shooter (dove, quail, duck and others), the Stoeger may be ok. They are definitely a lot better today than 15 years ago.

My father was a carpenter when I was growing up so a shotgun like a 2x6 may not be too bad I have an old Wingmaster that I inherited and the quality difference between it and the new expresses is very large. Seems like the craftsmanship on many of the newer guns has diminished but I do not mind polishing and tinkering to save a lot. Like the brands you mentioned but cannot afford them at the moment and am afraid if I saved up I would end up getting something else. Gotta focus on a semi-auto shotgun or I will end up with an AR or a 1911.
