Guys,
What's the best, most comfortable, holster for a 1911? Inside and outside? Does it ever dig into your side?

I have tried a lot of holsters over the years. I prefer owb holsters, I currently have couple, but my favorite was made to my specs by East, FFR Holsters. He is a great guy and will make exactly what you want. He has a listing in the classifieds with some pics of his work.

Full size 5" barrel? How much time will you be standing, walking, sitting in an auto, possibly on a horse, in an office environment? Does it have to be concealed? Bianchi in Askins Model was the #1 back in the 70's, but times have changed.

If you are talking concealed, my choice is Milt Sparks Summer Special 2 or Executives Companion

If you like leather, check out D.M. Bullard. Best and most comfortable OWB I've worn. I use the bodyguard for my Colt Commander, and I have one for my Colt Defender. Great stuff!

I tried several and ended up with a Galco Phoenix. I liked the fact it is set up for a dual position carry - either strong side on off side cross draw. I also liked the sight channel and the adjustable tension. And what finally sold me on it was the ergonomics of the thumb strap. I carry my 1911 cocked and locked and the function of the strap suited me best.
Silver spurs and gold tequila keep me hanging on. Pretty girls and old cantinas give me shelter from the storm.
