Looking for a load for 300 blackout that is subsonic using 208 grain amax. Prefer a powder that is easily found on the shelves these days. It will be from a 10.5" barrel. Thanks in advance for the information.

Prefer a powder that is easily found on the shelves these days. Good luck with that, there has been no such powder around here for the past 27months.

That's exactly what I say about 300 BO... WTF. Me too. I always figured a .30-30 was plenty pokey.

10.1 grains of 4227. Velocity of 1002 fps When I utilize the 208A's this is exactly what I load. I have found 4227 to be very picking on metering, and occasionally I will receive a crack on my 220SMK that be running a little hot. My Unique Mircrometer Powder bar has helped on the metering.

Honestly, the powder I choose is based on the rifle first, then the weight of the bullet. The powder I use is totally different for a bolt gun than it is for an AR. And different from a 16" AR to an SBR rifle. So, it helps to know what rifle it will be fired in.
