What is your suggested barrel/twist for the 6.5 Creedmore in a bolt action for paper punching and some stand hunting?

I went 24" from horizon

Beauty of the creedmoor not barrel sensitive so it doesn't loose much fps from 20-24

2k-2.5k depending on a few factors and barrel maker

24" 1:8.5"

Pushes 140 gr. A-maxes 2800 fps MV

My .260 Rem was done at 2500 rounds. But I had run 500 ct. 130 grainers through it when it was new. They ended up running 2950 fps. Shot like a champ! But that didn't help barrel life. The 6.5 Creedmoor I am running now will only ever have 140's in it. All I can do is wait and see.

8 or 8.5 twist will work and anything from 20-24" would probably best be suited. A shorty with a can would be pretty cool plinking and hunting rig too though.

24" for a good all around and I'd run a 1:8. If you can put up with the unweildyness of it, I'd go even longer (personal preference) especially if it's going to see a lot of bench time. I hunt regularly with 29" barrels. Sometimes things can get a little cramped, but they're still manageable.

Im would go 18in unless you are going to punching paper really far away.

Run a lighter bullet and that would be more easy to manage than a 24in

I like the 8.5" twist barrels for the 140 grain bullets. But if you plan to shoot any subsonic ammo, I'd recommend the 1:8", since it will stabilize the 160 RN at sub speeds.
