Just got this rifle in from our custom guy this morning. 6.5 WSM, Defiance Deviant Action, 27" Bartlein Barrel Sendero countour, Terminator T3 Brake, McMillan A-3-5 Stock, Jewell Trigger.

140gr HVLDs. This rifle is for a friend of mine. I have one too and I am shooting the 140s 3192fps with 65 grains of H1000. That load shoots great for me and that's where we are going to start with this one.

I like the cartridge, and there was good work done on these rifles, but personally I'd go with something with a 24" barrel, no brake, a thumb-hole stock and the whole thing would tip the scales at maybe 7.5 pounds, scope and all.

Yep an ultra light mountain rifle in 6.5wsm would be awesome. Recoil is not an issue for these rifles. The break is only to help stay on target and call your own shot.
