I personally will not eat any sheep. I'm afraid the stupid in them will make my condition worse.

Probably greasy and nasty. If my plan for the rest of my life works out I'll never know for sure! Baker

Sheep = born looking for a place to die. Lamb is one thing but maturity is not a good thing when it comes to table fare in some critters.

When I shot mine, a friend smoked it and that made it pretty good.

There's a reason you can buy lamb in the store, but cannot buy sheep. Take an old dirty sock, put a bar of soap in it, drag it behind your truck a few miles on a dirt road, soak it in diesel, then cook it and you'll come out ahead.

Tried to cook it a different way and it still was horrible. Dog saw me coming with it the second time and growled at me.

Looks like about 70% say it is bad and 30% say it is good. Can I at least make smoked sticks from it?

It all depends on the cook and your tastes. If the cook knows what he or she is doing and you are willing to try you might just like it. If you go with a negative attitude, then you will probably never know.

I have killed one Corsican Ram and a pile of Aoudads some of I have cooked and eaten. The Coriscan was not really bad since I killed it in Feb when it was cold. Skinned it right away then gutted it. Quartered and froze it. I took a whole hindquarter and cooked it. I cut a few slots in the muscles and put in onions/peppers in them. I then put it on the grill for about 45 minutes to brown it some. I made sop/baste out of oil/beer/butter/onion/lemon/spices that I cooked down then basted it with the mix. I made a bowl out of aluminum foil and put the HQ in it and poured all the sop/basting inside the bowl. I closed up the foil tightly and left it on the pit for about 4-5 hours. It fell off the bone and was nothing left of it when my family got done with eating it. We did the HQ and both shoulders the same way.

I had a friend that had about 30 Dall sheep when he decided to eradicate them. It took a while to finally get them all but I never kept any. He had some hands that took everyone that was killed. I should have kept a young one but I was told that they were not any good. His helpers worried me; they also ate all of the racoons and possums that we shot. Now that I think about it, they also kept the foxes and bobcats too, hmmm.

Worse case turn it into sausage. I harvested a big Auodad this past year and left a lot of meat in the canyon for the simple fact I couldn't get all of it out, ran out of light and really damn cold. Anyhow, Syracuse/Cinnamon creek can fix anything you want out of anything you bring In.
