I want to build a 6.5 for hunting and shooting steel. I already have a 300blk and a .308. I'm having trouble deciding between a Grendel and a Creedmoor. What's your opinion?
Haha yea I polished that thing for hours.

If you shoot a young deer because a neighbor will shoot it, you are that neighbor.

pretty big difference between the two IMO
If you need the distance the creed is the winner
If you are inside 300-400 i would go grendal because the components will be cheaper
are you reloading or buying ammo

In an AR Grendel gets my vote, heck have one and a bolt action build in the works. It is not as long range as a creedmoor but there are grendel shooters taking them to 1200 yards. Realistic hunting 400 yards for deer the grendel will work.
Trajectory wise the grendel is about the same as a 308, but recoil is less.
lf the saying "Liar, Liar your pants on fire" were true Mainstream news might be fun to watch

Grendel is a sweet round.........for an AR 15 If you want more velocity, want to run a 140 gr bullet, and want to go very far the Creedmoor will do a better job. Then you are into an AR-10 platform. You know your budget, and that is the main factor in this comparison.

If the price is equal, which one would you build? I've been researching for weeks and still can't make up my mind.

It really depends on you want to build a ar15 or ar10...that makes the decision for you. Or if you really wanna get wild, build both Good luck...hard to go wrong with either decision you choose.

Decide the platform because if Grendel it'll be AR15. With Creedmoor it'll be AR10. I have a Grendel and love it! If you go Grendel take a look at www.undergroundtactical.com they make their own Grendel barrels and bolts. They guarantee sub MOA and they deliver it. You can get a barrel and bolt combo for 299-329.

Unless you reload look hard at available ammo
Both are fun, for a dedicated LR gun, Creedmoor for sure.
