I have 68 acres North of Tyler TX that I live on. Towards the back of my land I put up a deer feeder that has proven great at bringing in hogs. At first I just worked my way in close for a shot on them. Then I bought one of those blinds that is a ladder with a seat at the top of it. That allowed me to be in a good position before the hogs showed up, but it was uncomfortable and during deer season, too darn cold. I then bought a metal framed deer blind that was better, but it was too small for company and it was awkward getting into it because of the way the ladder was built into it. So I got to thinking that I should make something comfortable and attractive. This is where I live and I'll have to look at it for the rest of my life. I decided on 8x8 with lots of windows and an easy to open door at the top of some easy to climb stairs. Windows are single hung, single pain aluminum units from Home Depot. Cheap, easy to install and weather tight. I insulated the ceiling with two layers of R13 fiberglass wall bats. The walls are covered in James Hardie lap siding on top and 4x8 sheets of Hardie panales on the bottom with strips of Hardie cut to look like board and batton. I tried to do a stain technique to resemble wood, but that's proven to be a failure. The pictures are a couple years old. Today it looks very faded and in need of a new coat of paint.

Sorry dude, that officially crosses over the line into "pout house" territory. Great picture. Extremely well done.

Dang nice blind, but some counties would want to tax it as an improvement.

what no hot tub? He has that at the house, no joke Eddie, you did that in true "Walker" fashion, looks great, but wouldn't expect anything else from you bud Fellas, this is how Eddie is , in anything he builds, for himself and his clients. he is being modest, you should see the gazebo he build for his wedding! over the top!

Eddie You should post the "build" photos in the photo section, more will see it. Just my 2 cents

Thank you. I'm hoping to run power and water to it this year and turn the bottom section into a half bath. The deer blind overlooks my pond and it would be really nice to have a toilet out there. Plus, once I get power run to it, I can put some outlets in the upper part and have some plug in space heaters instead of the coleman propane ones I'm currently using.

That's funny. I sat in dozens of chairs everywhere I could think of and I found those at Walmart. I forget what they cost, but they where very reasonable. What I like about them is how comfortable and quiet they are. When we have company and I need extra chairs, those two are the ones everyone wants to sit in because they really are super comfortable.

Looks to me like he built himself a good place to go when he's in the "DogHouse" with Mamma, especially with the planned future improvements....

Are u able to pull a 4wheeler under it? Yes, but it's only about a quarter mile from my back door and we just walk to it. We actually have a route that just about doubles the distance to get there because of how we sneak through the woods to make it less likely to disturb anything. I had a Honda fourwheeler when I built it, but that's gone and now I have a Kawasaki Trans Mule that is too big to fit in the opening. Eddie
