Anyone own the john Deere gator SxS's? Looking at buying one for a very good price, but I have been seeing very mixed reviews.

I have an 05 and have had only two problems with it. The hand brake never did really work and the bed is loose. I drilled a hole and fixed the bed with a wing nut. The hand brake still does not work. I plan to take it back to the dealer for that. It has around 800 hours on it and has never been in the shop. I've changed the oil a few times myself.

Hey Bill, my hand brake doesn't take until the very last click. I'm thinking its time for a trip to AG power.

There's an adjustment with a spring. I adjusted mine all the way up and it still doesn't work. You can go to a Gator forum and find the problem with no answers. A friend ran my with the break part of the way up. Other UTVs have a kill switch. The Gator might and should by now. I think they have fixed the loose beds on the newer models.

I have a 625i and just don't use it as much as my ranger. I like it a lot. It just doesn't have the power as my 900xp.

It is an 825i. It has been garage kept other than its 2 hours of use since purchase.

2013 model in condition I described above for $7500? It's the camo model with windshield, roof, and some other extras. I figure that a pretty good deal, but wasn't sure on John Deere's XUV's after reading so many mixed reviews?

i think they have the same gas engine as the Kawasaki Mule. If that is the case and compared to mine, I burn about 3 gallons a day with a 3 hole dog box and four hunters and gear plus a 7 gallon water tank. Seems pretty economical to me.

I love mine.Of course I got it for free from a friend of mine so I may be biased.... Very easy on gas. And yes, its the same Kawasaki Engine. Now if I can only find a reasonably priced forward shift cable for it that would be great. mad
