A good list though, pulled the trigger on a Silencerco Osprey 40. I already have a Silencerco Specwar 762 and a Warlock II. If you can't tell I love their products, and their customer service is top notch. Will be running the Osprey on my wifes Glock and my Springfield XD-40. Pretty excited, just gotta hurry up and wait now.

They have some pretty cool products out. I really want to see a salvo in action, I know they are heavy but it is a pretty cool can.

I've got an Osprey 45 and love it.

It is far more important to be able to hit the target than it is to haggle over who makes a weapon or who pulls a trigger.

I can't wait, I wasn't really interested in putting a can on my .40, more interested in my wife's glock 17. The Osprey 40 was cheaper than the 9 for some reason. So I got a two for one as far as I'm concerned with no reason not to get the 40.

So how does the process work? You buy the silencer and then send off for the stamp? How much does that cost? Can you actually take ownership of the restricted item before you have the stamp?

Best thing you can do to answer almost any question is go to Silencer Shop's website. They run down the process and what you need to do in detail. Just picked up my YHM Phantom last week from them and hope to get to the range this week!!

Thanks TCB. My goodness that's a lot of work. I was considering it but I guess I'm out. Fingerprints, a signature from a law enforcement official, submitting ATF paperwork, etc....or setting up a TRUST to register the item? Wow...people must really want that stuff much worse than I do.

It really isn't that bad, but you do have to be patient. The trust is the easiest route to go and you never have to worry about the fingerprints. I like you was skeptical, but after getting my first can, it was totally worth it. The trust is a one time deal, and while the tax stamp is a pain, it ain't going away. My biggest complaint is them not being able to streamline the process with me shelling out 200 bucks each time. Government always will want their money, I just want my NFA items sooner.

Patriot, it is really much, much easier than it sounds. Fingerprints and the LEO signature are unnecessary with a trust. The trust took me a grand total of 20 minutes to fill in my name and the names of the trustees and drive over to the notary to have it notarized and have copies made. About $12 for the notarization and 8 copies of the trust. The FFL you buy the suppressor from does all the ATF paperwork. You hand them a copy of your trust and the 200 bucks for the ATF and then you start waiting. Its an extremely simple process.

The stamp is $200????

So, I have to set up a legal trust, pay the government $200 and wait 30 days to spend $500+ on a suppressor? I didn't realize how expensive the suppressors were either until going to the silencer shop website.

Sorry, didn't mean to derail the thread. I just had no idea it was that expensive. My mind is blown right now.

You pay for the suppressor up front, and the wait is around 3-4 months right now filing with a trust. Inconvenient yes, a necessary evil, yes.

Well..... Yea that's a hell of a punishment for changing the oil on your gun.
