Anybody know a source for these or something similar new production? I picked up a new production Superior Grade model 70, had a nice sling made and would like something a little different than your standard Uncle Mike type swivel. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Winchester-Pre-6...=item20f774ded8

No way. I've been looking all over the web, checked at Basspro last time I was there. Would be something if Academy had solid steel old school swivels. Guess I need to look next time I'm in there.

Let me look tonight. I have a bunch of sling swivels stashed around, and most of them are not the "screw knob" type. If I have a set I can lay my hands on, you're welcome to them...

Sorry, I guess my reading skills need some work. Pretty sure the ones at academy have the little knob.

Check on Brownells, there is also a Winchester forum and 24hourcampfire.com has a section for Winchesters. Those guys could probably help you, find a nice set, maybe a vintage set you could have high luster blued to match your guns finish.

I'd buy those on Egay and have them reblued to match your gun, keep it "old"

LFT those would be about right. Granted I haven't been looking real hard at swivels lately but haven't seen a set like that in a while. I will pm you.
Honestly, been wanting a nice rifle for a long time. If it would have been a pre 64 or even better a pre war model 70 I'd save up some nickels and get the "correct" swivels. As it is just looking for something that it is not made in China, is solid steel and has clean lines.

I'll throw a recommendation behind these swivels they are much heavier (~3x) than the standard UM stuff you get out there and very strong

$2000 rifle, $100 should not be an issue, but you are correct, Chalet is looking for new production.

I have a couple old Winchesters and the sling swivels attach to the rifle, not the sling. Like these available from CZ: http://shop.cz-usa.com/ProductDetail/5812129304_Sling-Swivels-EuropeanThey're "European" style, but pretty close to what's on my old Winnies. This is the type that came on my CZ 550 Mannlicher. They have a built in "stop" at about 45 degrees so the metal sling "loop" never touches the wood.

That's a good looking swivel mount!
