Which maker and spec is best in the sub $600.00 category?

.308 - retail price, not including the stamp.

Does that price limit include the $200 tax stamp?

Based upon reviews in that price point it appears the Harvester is pretty hard to beat.

I own 5 various suppressors. Their vary in material. By far I prefer the titanium. But I would recommend saving up and getting the Gemtech HVT-QM. The QM stands for quickmount and allow you to easily remove the suppressors. It is stainless steel and runs about $800. Great suppressor and great sound reduction.

If your LEO of your city or state will not sign off on the form 4 you will need a trust. If you need a trust you must have it first. Then you purchase the suppressor. At that time the form 4 will be done by the seller. Send that in with all paperwork needed. Then the wait starts. The seller will get the stamp and at that time you can pick up your suppressor.

But you have to purchase a stamp no matter what correct? I live in Mesquite so would I need to go to the chief of police for him to sign the form 4?

Yes the stamp is a $200 tax to appease the FEDs.

Ok so I can avoid paying for the trust if the local chief will sign the form 4?

Read the following and it will answer a lot of your questions:

If there are additional questions after reading that, then feel free to ask.

I red that so basically if I go that route I'll have to get a signature every time I do a sbr or new suppressor. But if I do a trusti can just add to it, correct?

If I do a trust do I need to have all the money to buy the suppressor now? Or can I get the trust out of the way and get the suppressor later?

If this goes through, it simply means that the local chief of police or sheriff would not be able to deny you a signature for an NFA item unless you were a prohibited person. In other words, people wouldn't have to go the trust route solely to get around LEO signoff. There are many cities and counties where the local LEO have a standing policy of not signing off on any NFA items, no matter how squeaky clean you are.

You could still go the trust route, if desired.

You can do the trust now, then pay for the suppressor at a later date when you are ready.

A trust is a form document that is just fill in the blank. Quicken Willmaker has a trust form for $29.
