I was the Vice President of the Humboldt state university chapter of California waterfowl about 5 years ago. We started the same type of program, and you'd be amazed how many vegetarians and non-hunters were interested in it. The article is about the same experience we would have every year- and many people "converted"(for lack of better term) to eating wild Game.

We also held/ hosted 2-3 hunter safety courses every year, and they were always full. People just wanting to learn firearm safety and people actually wanting to get into hunting. They were great programs, and many people had positive experiences, which even if they didn't participate further could be a voice for ethical hunting.

That was a really interesting read.

I'm Always amazed at how many people don't have any hunting experience in the wildlife field and how many vegetarians there are (outside of TX and game animals).

I've never encountered one who despises hunting and discounts it as a valuable tool though.

Many of them would be eager to embrace and understand it given the opportunity.
