Recently been seeing hog calling products in stores has anybody had any success with them seems kind of gimmiky to me but if it works it would sure be fun, definately be a great way to pass the time until next deer season.

Yes, but most people suck at doing it consistently because they don't actually understand what various hog calls mean or when to use what calls.

Glenn Guess can.

This is true. I was out calling coyotes last year, not too far from a corn feeder. I was running a rabbit distress sound IIRC, and I saw a group of pigs coming in, I think to the feeder not my e-caller. I had loaded a few pig sounds from FoxPro, and figured I'd try them out. I think I tried hog feeding frenzy, but it could have been another pig sound. Whatever it was, they turned and ran a few seconds after I started up that sound. So I'd get some advice from someone on which ones to use first for sure...

I was using a lightning jack call from my spitfire last year when a boar came running past my hunting buddy not far from where I was. He knocked him down but said he didnt even look at the feeder as he ran by. He was running in my direction and we were about 400 yards apart seperated by lots of brush and some hills. I think he was headed to my caller. That's twice I've had them come in on me while varmit hunting.

absolutely-my fathers first wild hog was called in on East TX public hunting land. rabbit in distress call. And not too many years ago last one summer evening I talked little brother into "meowing like a cat" in the middle of a CRP field. I'll be darned if a nice boar didnt bee line for the truck bed we were spotlighting from...

I called a group of 3 in with my grunt call a couple years ago. It could be because there was a bait pile right in front of me and they knew it was there. But as soon as I started grunting I saw them come right in. About 10 minutes before dark.

A few years back hunting on my lease at night.. I had a group of about 30 come into my call. They came to the call and came in on top of me. I had one not 3 feet from me and yes I shot her.. and when I did they took off but not far back into the woods. I was sitting on the ground in a chair by myself when it happened needless to say.. I hunt them out a blind now.

Best thing for calling them in is the sound of a corn feeder.

Never known anyone that could call them in with anything else.

I've called in several now with different type calls at different times. Glenn Guess is consistent in calling them in. Look up some of his stuff. I used a grunt call per his instructions and called two in last year.

Javelina is a whole other creature all together and are easily called in and pretty fun too as they come in with attitude looking to fight.

Have had a big boar come in while using a Jack Rabbit in distress. Was in the middle of a wheat field one morning trying to call in yotes, and he came barreling across the field right to us with his head and ears up. Definitely a rush.

Have also seen a video of some folks sneaking into the edge of their bedding area and just doing soft grunts with a deer grunt call. Big boar came in all stiff legged like he was a ruttin buck about to lock horns. Havent got the opportunity to try it yet, but it definitely seems like a good idea
