Bad news is remington chooses 1-12 for most all of its 308 rifles. At least savage knows what they are doing with 1-10 twist.

I have read enough to know you have a lot of experience but I know of a Savage FTR with a 12 twist and it shoots 175s with 43.6 gr 4064 in little bitty groups.

My remmy shoots tiny groups with 175 and 178 with 1-12 twist. My comment was that remmy in 1-10 twist arent common

Hold out for the 5R model. No comparison !!! Look on Gunbroker, be prepared to spend a $1,100 at least. You wont be sorry. I have the 5R in a 20", .223 and it shoots "almost" as good or better than most $5,000 customs
