Sitting on my couch hand priming brass, going through and feel one that clamps funny.
Look at the brass and the primer is upside down in the pocket. I am a little afraid to put it into a FL die to knock the primer out, I don't want to set it off.
Is this piece of brass trash?

No just ease it out should not be a problem.... You should be wearing eye protection or you could have your wife do it while you hide in the closet.... But she should wear eye protection as well.

Spray a little WD-40 on the primer, that will kill a primer faster than anything I know of. Then remove with the press. Of course clean that case real good afterwards before loading it.
But like said above you should be able to remove with the press, just go slow with the pressure and do wear safety glasses.

If I had a wife I would of had her do it! Eased it out and everything is alright. I was holding my breath while I was doing it, thanks!

Like they said you can ease it out but I depending on what kind of brass it is I would just trash it. I have only done this on range 9mm brass so it wasn't worth it to me on the possibility on damaging anything.

I'd push it out live to save the $0.03.

If you ease it out slow enough, you can re-use the primer. (I have done this on some of my personal ammo, not customer ammo). It will still work just fine.

I might be a little OCD. I absolutely HATE having odd numbers of components. I'll go to some length to avoid having a box of ammo with 49 or 99 cartridges. I don't like I incomplete sets of anything!

I'd rather have 49 or 99 than 48 or 98.

None of you anals are alone....I am too. Yes, that was a didn't make dollars or "cents you've been gone" post.
I'll search for hours to find a primer dropped to make up for an imbalance.
Pass the gravy.

Geez, you fellows had better stay away from casting, you will never get the lead to even out to a even 20/50/100 count.
