So everybody knows who this guy is, but nobody knows what the accuracy guarantee actually is?
If you're going to make an accuracy guarantee, why wouldn't that be front and center on your website and every other marketing tool you've got? I think that you need to go by and talk to them. I'm sure that you'll be convinced. It wouldn't be a good business practice to give a carte blanche accuracy guarantee without specifying material requirements. If you take him the cheapest barrel that you can get at Midway and an action of unknown quality and a pos plastic factory take off stock and tell him to just screw it together for you. How in the world could he guarantee accuracy? Robert even checks the high dollar custom actions for squareness, run-out of the threads and anything else that might affect accuracy. I don't know of a rifle he has built with quality components that wouldn't shoot .5 or less in the hands of a competent shooter, but we all know that all shooters are not created equal!

I've know Robert for a while, even before they opened the shop. He's a straight up guy who knows rifles and how to make them shoot little bug holes. If he tells you something you can take it to the bank. You'll never meet a more honest person and you surely won't regret doing business with him. He's got a lot of rifles to build at the moment but my guess is that as more of his work gets out the reported results will cause his backlog to keep getting bigger and wait times longer but it will be worth the wait. Robert and Jason have a first class shop set up. They are in it for the long haul. Well I can't wait to get mine started. I would LOVE to see the shop. It's over by that Yamaha dealership off 820 and 10?

It sucks that everything HAS to be spelled out perfectly in this day and age. If he were to put out a bad product, I'm 100% certain we'd all know about it through word of mouth. Based on what I've seen on the website, I have 0 reservations about walking in with my action and saying, build it.

It's a nice shop. They've got a good selection of factory guns at some pretty good prices. It's off 820 and 10, I don't remember seeing a Yamaha dealership though, maybe I missed it. I have a LA 243 Winchester. I just assumed with all the 6.5's being such a long bullet, why would a LA be an issue for a CM? I think because the 6.5 CM was designed for a short action. I originally wanted a 6.5x284, but eventually went with the 260AI.

That all makes sense. But why does he advertise an "accuracy guarantee" then? I would assume that he builds rifles to customer specifications as in "custom" some of those specifications may lead to worse accuracy, or something they are not willing to guarantee. If they build it the way they want may be where the guarantee comes into play. If you don't have a bone to pick with them then call them up and ask them. They advertise a guarantee, it your interested hear them out, what your doing is casting doubt on them before you even know anything.

But why does he advertise an "accuracy guarantee" then? Just give them a call I'm sure they will answer your question. I would think the accuracy would vary a bit between the barrel you use and what exact build you want. They specialize more in hunting type rifles and tactical type of setups, not bench rest guns (not saying they can't do it though if thats what your looking for). If I can realistically get 1/2moa or better all day long I'll be happy.

I hate to steal this thread a bit, but who has experience with this side bolt stop?
I was not aware there was such and option. When I checked around online, this APR shop's price is one of the better ones. Anyone had this done, in particular by this APR shop?
For years I've had problems with my bolt release lever getting stuck to point where I have to take it out of the stock after about using 2-3. This would just totally eliminate my problem.

Don't all the high end actions have the side bolt release? Is that what they mean?

Or they can do them anyway. I found pics on the custom action websites. Didn't feel right posting the pics on here

Those are a lot easier than that little button in front of the trigger on the 700, which is better than the one on the 600 and 660. Easiest operating factory Remington bolt stop that I know of is the 788.

All the prices are on their website. $110 for slide release and $35 to hex cut the bolt.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

Looks like they are building some real nice rifles at reasonable prices. I talked to them and they seem like real knowledgeable straight shooters.

Gentlemen,
This thread was just brought to my attention. Glad to see the interest on this forum. That said, we are not a sponsor on this site and I don't know what the rules are concerning that, and I sure don't want to step on anybody's toes here. I will answer a few questions here, then will ask that you contact us by phone or by email through our site. We are a small shop, so its hard to always answer the phone when customers are in the store, but if you leave a message we WILL get back to you.
We offer two types of builds. Option 1 is a full custom build using your choice of components. Option 2 is a semi-custom rifle based on a Remington 700 action. We can build on your action or provide the action for you. These rifles are sold as a "package" deal and come standard with alot of custom features already included. They can be found on our site under "APR Exclusives". Our accuracy guarantee for these rifles is also listed on that page as sub-MOA.
Most hand loaders will have no issues getting them to 1/2 MOA or better. Getting to, and beyond that level depends every bit as much on the capability of the shooter/loader as it does on the rifle itself. While we can't guarantee the shooter's skill level, rest assured, if you're not happy with the rifle's performance than neither are we.
Thanks, Robert

DANG I fell in love with what you get here! Time to sell one to fund it, even as affordable as it is. Spoke with Robert and an older gentleman that was patient as could be with my rug-rat running around in there. Their full custom builds look great, their package deals are awesome and it seems all the other guns they sell are very well priced! I like what I saw. Can't wait to drop back in

They are a ton of help and will spend all day answering your questions! I just dropped off a remington short action with them that is going to be turned in to a 260 AI. I can't hardly wait for the build to be done!! Just following up to see if you received your 260 AI yet and what your thoughts were.
