Was looking through pics from this year and thought if share a few.

Started off with planting the duck chow in the heat of the summer. Cool August days make for good times slogging through the mud...

Made a couple great dove hunts with the family.

Teal was slower than normal, we just never saw big numbers. Got some kiddos out for their first birds.

It's nice to have a crew of young blind builders now.

Duck season was solid. Lot less birds around than years past but we still charged em rent as often as we could.

Uncle Patricio-what's the number one rule?

Enjoyed some great hunts with friends

And family.

Gaudi and I decided to take on the North American bird list with 410s. I did about 60% of my hunts with mine.

Even recruited a new 410 club member. Bryan baker-crane wreckers is now shooting a 410.

Took the family down to stay with a friends and his brothers that live in cancun. Made the 2.5 hr jungle road to get to punta Allen. This is a Christmas that my kids will never forget.

Hit the water with the locals in a ponga.

Turned em loose for some under water hunting.

Little more live science glass

Enjoyed another amazing trip to hunt with my great friend in the Netherlands.

Cheers to my amazing/supportive/crazy wife and my great friend Martijn.

Enjoyed hosting him and Bas here for a 10 day grind.

Spent the last day of the season with my dad and my boys. A big rain washed a ton of coastal grass debris into a 1/4 acre pond on our place. In 35 years if hunting, I've never seen anything like it. We literally decoyed 1000s of birds between 3-5 in the afternoon. This was a top
3 hunt ever for me.

Like the last 4 years, I've wrapped up in Mexico to get the killing out of my system.

Heck of a sunset to end a heck of a year.

Added a few more of these to the collection.

Lesser scaup
2 Ross
Several brant-single and double banded. Oldest was banded 20 years ago as an adult.

Youngest got his first.

But my favorite pics of the year-

The first week of the season we were overrun with Coots that were absolutely destroying our habitat. I told my boys that Thursday afternoon we were going on a coot whackin.

My 7 yo was is excited that he wrote it down so he wouldn't forget.

And the results...

Next adventure-taking the boys on a 4 day banding trip to Ontario. Helping a friend band 2000+ mallards and Canada geese during the moult.

I really enjoy your posts and love seeing the kids enjoying it so much. My son leaves for college next year and I will miss not getting to share the sunrises with him as much as we have the past 10 plus years. Plus, he's gotten good at helping get everything set up.

Enjoying that type of season with your family is a blessing.

I work hard, drink a little and hunt when I can.
