What do y'all think about this handgun? Pros Cons, everything!
I'm thinking about getting one. I've heard it handles better than most .380s and it's better for a woman shooter.
Thanks ahead of time!

I've honestly never heard a bad thing about it. A bit overpriced for a carry gun, but it's one of the most well-liked for sure.

It is a bit more expensive. But i've heard that it is one of the easiest of the .380s to handle especially for women. Plus it's got a bunch of different styles that are just awesome! Not that that matters when it comes to protecting yourself. Haha.

Some are saying to go for a p239, any thoughts?

I have the gun in 9mm the P938, I would recommend getting that over the .380.

I ordered one last December and so far it is great, easy to shoot for me. Ordered from Palmetto State for $399 plus $18 shipping so $417 total to my FFL, that was the Bi-tone with night sites one also.

HHUUMMMM, what to write, what to write, I got nothing.

Even for a woman? What about weight, size, and recoil? Is it better or worse than the 380?

My wife shoots it and actually likes it better than my Sig or her own Glock. The smaller frame allows her to get a better grip. Recoil is slightly more, but she doesn't have any issues with it. For the most part it is equal to her Glock. She likes it better than a 38 snubby that she has had for years.

Awesome that helps a lot! I'm definitely going to rent one when I go back up to the range to see how it handles for me individually.

Mine has proven unreliable. Going to drop it off along with my M&P some day.

What problems did you have with it?

Awesome gun! Ran 500 through mine in about an hr with every cheap brand of ammo I could find - Essentially trying to jam it. Never once had an issue, even to this day. It was a gift for my gf so I wanted to know it was reliable and it is. Very easy to handle, grip, and rack the slide, even for the smallest hands.

Only downside IMO is the 1911 platform being single action if you're worried about carrying cocked and locked. We keep hers in an IWB holster or a garter-style under the skirt holster, both of which completely cover the trigger.

Bottom line, she loves it and has become quite the shooter with it!

Were you trying to use JHP's? I don't think they like those with the ramp these way it is. Just my .02

Awesome! Is that the only gun she shoots? Does she have any others that she loves?

We tried several different ones. She likes my M&P Shield 9mm and the XDS 9mm, but had trouble racking the slide with both. She also looked at the S&W Bodyguard in .380. all are great guns but ultimately she felt most comfortable with the Sig. When you hold it in your hand vs. the bodyguard or other similar-sized guns, it just feels right.

Agree p238 is a great gun for anyone. I love the single action trigger and the safeties, ok for cocked and locked carry "condition 1"

I don't like them for cocked and locked because there is no grip safety. I also wonder why the trigger is so heavy. It seems to me that the trigger on them would be like a 1911.

Don’t roll those bloodshot eyes at me.

Wife tried many rental .380 and prefers the p238. Locked breech instead of just a blowback action, so it is easier to pull back the slide.. The extended 7 round magazines are worth the extra cost, just as a place to put your pinkie finger when gripping.

I definitely haven't heard many bad things about it, when I get my .380 that will be my plan!
