I swore I would never buy a Vortex scope. Seems it is 50/50 on getting a lemon. Well I found a smoking deal on a 6-24 HS. So I ordered it yesterday along with some Talley rings. I want to test the scope out and see if it is comparable to the Zeiss I have on other rifles. It will find a temporary home on my 7mm till I get the Nightforce SHV.

This rifle isn't a tacticool or target rifle. I built it to kill animals so I wanted something with turret caps. This scope seems to fit the bill for now.

I ordered the PST 6-24, for the same reason. Let me know how you like it and your over all impressions.

I have the 4-16 PST and I like it very much. I don't think the glass will make you want to toss your Zeiss or Leupold VX3 into the trash, but it's plenty good enough. I have read, but can't verify, that the HS glass is better than the PST glass. I'm sure that the serious Vortex fans on here will give you the good scoop.

well I should be able to review the crossfire II by next thur. or so, got one coming for a mini 30 that will be a dedicated hog gun. needed something that would handle getting used a lot but not cost more than the dam gun. nuts

I spent quite a while researching the crossfire II. I almost bought one til I realized I needed different features to learn to shoot long range. If the reviews are true, you should be pretty happy with it. I may end up buying one anyways for the 7mm mauser I just got.

this will be for a dedicated mini 30 hog gun, short range (150 yds or less) and mainly night hunting, I got the 3-9x40 with lighted reticle.
it was 50.00 off on amazon and someone said it was discontinued so I snagged one.
