I have a question for all you shooters out there. I have a Tikka T3 lite with synthetic stock and stainless barrel in a 7mm-08 caliber. I hand load for it and it shoots inside an inch at 100yds. now.
I have been thinking about putting on a Bell & Carson Stock on it to help improve overall look and accuracy.
I am wanting it to be a "tack driving machine"!
My question is will the stock improve accuracy very much and is it worth the money spent???
THANKS!!

I have 2 T3's (.30-06 & 7mm-08) and I have B&C stocks on both of them.

They definitely change the feel of the rifle (for the better IMO.) as far as fit and recoil is concerned. These stocks are a little heavier than the factory stocks. This can help with your accuracy. They were both drop in and perfect as far as fit and finish goes, no issues with the barrel floating all the way back to the recoil lug. I like the full length aluminum bedding block, this stock is MUCH better than the factory stock when using a bipod as there's no flex. I hand load for both of them and they are both sub MOA.

Besides all that, I think it's a better looking stock. I like 'em. cheers

Thanks tth_40. That is what I'm thinking and hoping. Probably gonna pull the trigger and get one in a tan/black spiderweb. Think it will look good against that stainless.

It should look great! I got the all black for my '06, and got the black/gray spider web for my wife's '08.

I think you'll like it. A lot. cheers

I've looked at the Tikkas and B&C stocks. How much does that stock run?

It's a shame that a gun as nice as the Tikka comes with such a crummy stock. I'm looking at buying one after hearing/reading tons of good stuff about them, but factoring in the cost of a decent stock makes it less attractive for sure.

I have about 6 different B & C stocks. The Tan looks great with the stainless. I have the brown on a stainless 7mm-08 and it looks really good too. I did not think I would like the brown as much before I bought it. I had the greens and tans on other guns. But looking at them side by side I think I like the brown a little more. It's a richer color.

This is where I got mine.

https://www.stockysstocks.com/bell-carls...inum-block.html

Currently around $270.00

To me it's one of the better mods you can do to a T3. Better recoil pad than the factory one too.

Plus they have some really cool colors.

I doubt you will notice much improvement in accuracy. Pretty much a cosmetic change in my opinion.

Going from a standard grip to a vertical grip, the vertical yeilds better trigger control. The vertical grip is more ergonomic for the entire hand. Plus if the B & C is more stiff on the forearm, and I bet it is, there is less likelyhood that the forearm will ever touch the barrel, even on a bipod or front bag.

The B&C stock is MUCH stiffer due to the full length aluminum bedding block that extends into the forearm. I have a bipod on my '06, and there is no movement between the forearm and barrel no matter how much you load it.

The factory stock with a bipod installed will flex with a very minimum amount of loading.

I have a tikka 7mm08 in a B&C stock, I bought for $229 from Redhawk rifles. Definitely an upgrade.

Typically, Redhawk is one of the cheapest vendors for B&C stocks. Great service, too. IMO, the B&C stock is a good upgrade for the T3.

Where have you found one?

**Disregard. I read further and saw that you found it at Stockys and that they finally have the Tan in stock**

Tikkas typically shoot very well out of the box. I don't know if it will help accuracy but the Bell & Carlson is a much nicer stock. You can always have it bedded while your at it.

Bell and CarLson have great stocks, but I have had more luck with Boyds...just my personal opinion, for the price they are hard to get, beautiful wood too.

I wish they made a stock for savage long actions.

Well, here it is:
My finished Tikka T3 7mm-08 with a new Bell & Carson composite stock in desert tan & black spiderweb. It has a 6"-9" Harris Bipod. A Limbsaver vibration dampener and on top is a Zeiss 6.5-20-50 scope!! Hope it shoots as good as it looks!!

It didnt help mine in accuracy, still shot like it did before! Very good! Suppressed 300 win mag tikka! I just hate the feeling of the plastic or graphite stocks, even though the tikka is the stiffest one ive seen. The stock swap adds a little over a pound to it.
