I need to get some new arrows for hunting and target practice. I do not want to spend a lot of money on it. If you need to know I pull 45lb and draw 25.5''. Are there any at academy that would work?

Chances are yes. But chances are they will come in full lengths and you will have to cut them down. I have seen some that are shorter for lower weight draws at some of the Walmarts in rural areas so maybe Academy has some that way as well. However understand that their prices are lower and so is the quality of the arrow. It may affect group size and toughness of the arrows. Individual arrows may not fly well and have to be used for practice only and only shooting them will help you to identify any with issues. I personally don't shoot store brand arrows anymore because I can afford a little better but I don't shoot top of the line arrows either because I like to shoot pigs and they tend to destroy arrows.

Forgot to ask, is your bow capable of adjusting higher in weight and draw length?

Well depending on your age, point of growth, etc you may want to get some a little longer and stiffer spined to allow for growth.

The best solution is go to an archery shop in your area. If not then cabelas or bass pro and you can get the store brand arrows inexpensively.

Look at the spine charts made by the arrow companies. Then you will know what to look for at the store, or you can order some arrows from somewhere like FS Discount.
The secret to a long life is to try not to shorten it.

500 spine should be good for your setup and work if you up the poundage to 50 lbs as well. Go above 50 and move to a 400 spine. Can order them cut for your length, inserts installed includes field points for less than 50 plus shipping. beamon bowhunter are not high end but pretty good quality arrows that get rebranded to store brands often. http://www.huntersfriend.com/carbon_arrows/beman_bowhunter_carbon_arrows.htm

Spend the money and get some decent arrows. I shoot Maxima Reds they are a little pricey but my bow shoots the setup well. I have a arrow that is on #5 animal and still going.

easton epics 500, beeman 500 or goldtip hunters 35-55 will all be in Academy. Your looking at $45-$55 for 1/2 doz. if you buy them there. Shop online and you'll find a much better deal.

I shoot Epics. Have for many years. I can make claims (honest ones) of killing multiple animals with the same arrow and broadhead. Quality doesn't always mean great expense. It depends on what you use the arrows for. If I were shooting competition as a pro shooter I wouldn't shoot the Epics. For my regular practice, deer, pigs and the occasional exotic they have served me well.

Im with passthru. I used epics back when I shot a compound and I can say some of my arrows where probably thru 4-5 different animals. They can take a beating.

When shooting arrows you may not want to go simple depending on what your targets are. Make sure they fit your draw length and not too long. If you shoot an over weighted arrow through a 45 pound bow your not going to like the performance. Going to a small pro shop isn't necessarily going to be more expensive than going to a store and buying some fixed sized arrows in a box that may not suit you and your bow. The knowledge you can learn while your there is worth the ride. Don't cheat yourself with cheap archery equipment. Get it right the first time and when you miss you know its you and not the bow or arrow. I worked at an archery shop for a while. I leaned a lot that I couldn't learn by just being a hunter. I shoot easton acc 360s They make a 500 that may be a little more suited for a 45 pounder. They aint cheap. You may want to go just carbon. I don't like them because they can shatter on impact when they hit bone. You may not have that problem with 45 pounds though. Ive killed animals with the same acc over and over again theyre tuff.
Recently got a gym membership, strange folks! I like to show up the roid zombies with my full motion curls with the 55lb. bells. Not their cheater short stroked light weights. It's holarious.

or you could worry about being cool and buy the most expensive set that perfectly matches your bow by draw length, poundage, tip weight.... still not going to matter at 0-30

So if you shoot an over weighted 30 inch shaft out of a 25.5 inch draw length bow at 45 pounds the trajectory is going to be like 3 feet at 30 yrds. Is that good? No, you would want it to be closer to a foot with a shorter and lighter arrow. The margin of error just increased x3 with an oversized arrow. If they were shooting 70 pounds it wouldn't be that much of an issue, but at 45 pounds with a short draw length there is very little pushing power. Length wise and poundage wise. My wife has shot the same weight and draw length in a compound bow and trust me you will need every bit of help you can get, to get your arrow speed up. Think about an animal jumping the string or you trying to lob one at an animal at 30 yrds. Its not about the cool thing, just about getting your maximum potential out of your weapon of choice, and you could learn a lot from an archery shop employee. All you have to do is ask.

I would hope he would get them cut to length... Any of today's carbon arrows won't make a difference at shorter ranges sorry

My wifes bow shot short arrows and she still had a ten yard pin. 45 pounds and a 25 inch draw is tricky if you want to hunt deer sized game with it. I think that some of the newer high performance bows today that are set up with a 25 in draw length and 45 lb draw weight could deliver a first pin sight in at 20 yrds. Hers was too slow to deliver that though. The short draw length kills performance, especially with a 45 pound draw weight.
